Outgoing State Representative Glenn “Landslide” Rogers is capitalizing on his newfound fame as the biggest loser in the Texas after his historic loss to Mike Olcott in the Republican Primary.
There was a time when we gave a half-hearted defense of Rogers:
Clearly this was a mistake on our part, as Rogers recently recanted his challenge to duel Sid Miller to the death, which was the only interesting thing Rogers ever did besides lie that the border was secure.
Roger’s latest interview is more of the same—complaining about how he is a big fat loser, and how he was unable to explain to voters why he went along with Abbott’s border scam, but not his school choice scam.
The interview with Rogers is short-ish (22 min) and comes from the ABC affiliate in DFW and their podcast series Y’allitics. This is from Jason Wheeler and Jason Whitely at WFAA. The show is marketed as a hardcore centrist political podcast, giving air time to the left and right.
Overall, I think they’re doing really great work covering Texas politics. Hopefully Rogers and his loser ways don’t rub off on these guys.
The episode is titled “We're gonna go so far to the right that we're wrong” which is an exhausting platitude spoken by Rogers in the episode.
Here are a few highlights with rough timestamps:
Start- Rogers says two billionaires are the most powerful men in Texas.
3:20 - (vindictive tone) Rogers he is disappointed that voters “believed the lies.”
5:00 - Cucks on challenging Sid Miller to a duel.
6:20 - Says he agrees with billionaires on almost every issue, but says it’s not about issues, it’s about control for the billionaires, and he can’t be controlled. (lol ok Glenn)
7:20 - Seems to quit the Republican Party? Just kidding, he didn’t quit. He can’t quit because he has been fired.
8:00 - Criticizes RPT leadership.
8:20 - Says he represents the real grassroots (ad hominem attack).
In the following clip (2:49) Rogers describes what he views as the biggest problems with Texas politics and the Republican Party. He hilariously ties Greg Abbott to Bryan Slaton.
11:30 - Starts to talk about the lies against him, first example he gives is that he did not vote with Democrats to impeach Ken Paxton. (LOL OK GLENN)
12:00 - Accuses Abbott of using Texas Scorecard propaganda.
14:00 - Says some House members are anti-voucher, but “took the easy way” by voting for them.
15:08 - Says he is “hoping and praying” Dade Phelan wins his runoff election.
LOL, OK GLENN.
Why doesn’t Glenn just come out as gay. That’d be less embarrassing.
