Below are words and thoughts from some of the staff at Current Revolt. Several of us were too upset to write anything. The following are the individual thoughts of the respective team members.
From Tony Ortiz:
Charlie Kirk’s murder is unsurprising. Unsurprising because the left has been pushing rhetoric that promotes murdering conservatives, like me, for over a decade. The killing of right-wingers and conservatives is now expected.
I received a phone call from a far left liberal friend yesterday. They offered condolences, but immediately followed it up with voicing concern about the potential “violent response from the right.” I was appalled, because the people being targeted with actual physical violence lately have been right-wingers. Right-wingers have often been targeted for what they say because the left considers words to be weapons. The left consists of adults who expect to be coddled like children. Words are scary to them, and scary words deserve a punch to face or bullet to the neck.
I explained to my liberal friend that many in the right considered Charlie Kirk to be a moderate, yet the left still decided to murder him. She immediately said “well many of us on the left thought he was a right-wing extremist.”
I then asked her to name three right-wing activists, officials, or internet celebrities the left would describe as a moderate-conservatives. She couldn’t name one.
The left labels anyone even slightly right of themselves to be a nazi. So no surprise that she couldn’t name anyone on the right who wasn’t an “extremist” in her eyes.
Charlie Kirk was a moderate Republican. In some things I, and many reading this, find ourselves more right-leaning than Charlie Kirk. Liberals celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk and danced on his grave. Imagine what they want to do to people like me?
Another story made waves on X this week, because mainstream media wouldn’t dare touch it. The story of a young White girl who made the grave mistake of riding public transit after finishing a long shift at the pizza place she worked at. She was buried in her phone, minding her own business. A Black man sitting behind her decided to stab her in the neck. She died.
I refused to watch the video of this young girls murder. I don’t need more reasons to reinforce why I fill up my wife’s car with gas so that she isn’t put in a situation where she has to fill it alone at night. But I was asked to be on a FOX News panel this week and I figured this incident would be discussed - so I watched it.
There is a moment in the video frozen in my mind. Right after the girl is stabbed, her face fills with terror and confusion. She doesn't know why she was stabbed. She doesn't realize her throat was slashed open and she will bleed out and be dead in seconds, dying alone. This is that moment:
I see this image, even now, and my body goes warm, I feel a heavy lump in my throat, and my eyes begin to water. I can’t help but to wonder that the young girl in this picture could be my wife, or any of my female friends or family, and they could be dying alone on that train. That Black man should have been behind bars, not on that train. A liberal judge is responsible for him being free. Look it up.
We shouldn’t have to live like this.
The left, of course, won’t talk about this incident.
But the girl who died was Ukrainian, and a refugee, and a female who was murdered by a man! Why wouldn’t the left want to talk about her!?
Because she is White and because her murderer is Black. This is obvious to anyone who isn’t lying to themselves. The left has narratives to push, and protecting criminals and demonizing White people is one of those narratives.
I cannot get the image of this terrified girl out of my head.
Charlie Kirk was shot the day after I watched the video of the train stabbing. I vividly remember seeing hi-def video of Charlie assassinated on my computer screen. A bullet seemingly hits his armor plate, ricochets off the plate, tears into his neck, his body seizes up, and blood pours from his neck.
My X feed was filled with the image of Charlie lurched back, bleeding out. Another image frozen in my mind. I will not post this picture, because it is too disturbing. It makes me angry and it is personal because I always had friendly interactions with Charlie and his staff at Turning Point.
I stopped praying and going to church a while back. I have become disillusioned with how many public figures and internet celebrities keep hard-pushing Christianity, and religion in general, despite living completely degenerate lives. But in that moment I stopped and prayed for Charlie Kirk. Anyone with some familiarity with firearms or injuries knows that someone doesn’t survive a neck wound like that, but we pray for miracles, sometimes they happen and sometimes they don’t. So I stopped and I prayed but the miracle I and many others prayed for did not happen and Charlie Kirk died.
The left now celebrates Charlie Kirk’s murder because their infinite media outlets and leftist foot soldiers told them that Charlie Kirk was an extremist. That he was dangerous. What really made Charlie Kirk dangerous to the left though wasn’t his rhetoric. It was his effectiveness. Charlie was the best at what he did, and what he did was convince young people to embrace conservatism, to be proud, to embrace being American, and to follow God. He did this better than anyone. He created an organization and an entire movement that did this every day, everywhere across the nation. No liberal organization or activist has been able to reach youth like Charlie Kirk and Turning Point. Many people are saying this.
Charlie did all of this and was murdered at the age of 31.
Charlie Kirk was a true American. He lived, and achieved, the American dream. He got into politics at a young age, started a business, grew it into an empire, married, and had two children. There is nothing that embodies America and the American dream more than this. And he was killed for it. His wife will grow old without her husband. His children will never truly know their father, all because someone thought Charlie deserved to die.
Leftists have an emotionally driven ideology. For the left, everything comes almost exclusively from their feelings: Letting in hordes of unvetted third world people into our country? We must because we feel bad for them! Letting repeat criminals get away with murder and violent crimes consistently? We must because they are poor minorities and we feel bad for them! Celebrating Charlie Kirk being murdered? It’s a good thing, because we feel like he’s being very mean to us! The right has an overused and somewhat cringe line, “facts don’t care about your feelings,” but despite the cringe, it’s a real thing. The left is all feelings.
Even now, you’re seeing teachers, academics, public officials, politicians, and celebrities, reveal who they are in response to Charlie's assassination. These people are celebrating his death, saying he deserved it. We should take note of who these people are, because these are the people who are actually a danger to our country. These people would surely celebrate if I was murdered.
And some, like a staffer at the Texas Office of the Attorney General, are using Charlie Kirk’s assassination to push gun control.

Why is a Gracie Hilton, a Democrat voter who is advocating removing our right to bear arms, working for the Republican Texas Attorney General? Beats me. I asked an official with the OAG’s office and was told they supported her right to free speech.
Okay. Yeah. Sure.
I have actually seen a lot of liberals and Democrats using the murder of Charlie Kirk to advocate for taking our gun rights away. This is very interesting to me.
The average Democrat thought process:
We want to take your gun rights away, and if you don’t listen to us, we will murder you and your children with those guns, and maybe if we murder enough of you, you will finally come to our side and give up your guns. If you don’t, we’ll just keep murdering you.
This is their plan, this is how it will work going forward. Conservatives, Republicans, right-leaning people, and their children will continue to get murdered with firearms by the liberals who are against the ownership of firearms.
I will remind you this girl was not murdered with a firearm:
Do you know her name? Of course you don’t. You know the name George Floyd though.
Her name was Iryna Zarutska. Nobody protested over her murder.
Now is the time for Republican unity. If you are a politician reading this, now is the time to use your platform effectively to get good things done for the American people. Your constituents will follow you on this. Do it now.
If you are a conservative grassroots activist reading this, now is the time to reach out to your elected representative, even if you think they are a RINO, and ask their thoughts on what happened to Charlie Kirk. Bury the hatchet. Work together to get some good things passed. This is possible. The killing of Charlie Kirk should not continue to fan the flames of Republican infighting, more than anything I think Charlie Kirk would want something good and real and serious to come out of his death.
Much to the surprise of many, I do not hate my liberal friends or colleagues. When I have sat down and grabbed a beer or food with them, I have found that common ground could be had, specifically on the pursuit of a solid middle class, good health, and safety and security of where we live. But something happens to people when they get behind that black mirror we carry around all day. Maybe I am foolish for not hating my liberal friends. Maybe they secretly wish me dead. Who knows? I doubt they would tell me.
I appreciate those who have reached out to ask how I am. I am fine. But more than anything, I am angry at where we are in this country. I don’t want to live like this. We shouldn’t have to live like this.
We don’t have to live like this.
Will Charlie Kirk’s death be fresh in our minds next week? Next month? Next year? Will people remember how he lived and how he died? Will elected officials finally do things to fix our society and punish those who seek to destroy it?
I think so. For once, I am optimistic.
Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk.
From Stonewall:
Charlie Kirk represented a degree of Christlikeness in the political arena that is seldom if ever seen there. He refused to respond to evil with evil, instead consistently exuding grace and courtesy. Being a light in immoral and amoral spaces was his brand and he was recognized for this. In the Pentateuch (Gen. 25:8 Gen. 35:29 Gen. 49:33 Num. 20:24 Deut. 32:50) a phrase is used repeatedly to describe the death of a man who is known to have been saved upon his death: “he was gathered to his people”.
Charlie Kirk has been gathered to his people.
From Tex:
As my boss put it on Current Revolt’s X account, this was “a very sad and evil week.”
Firstly, we saw the murder of Iryna Zarutska, a defenseless girl, at the hands of ghetto trash who immediately afterward bragged that he “killed that White girl.” Now we’ve seen Charlie Kirk get shot through the neck by a Leftist terrorist, emboldened by Democrat incitement. I exhort our readers to watch both videos unfiltered for themselves to see just how evil our foes are.
This time in our history has been nothing but attack after attack by the Left, with normal people refusing to make reprisals due to mercy.
The matter is even more horrifying when you know Charlie Kirk’s young daughter literally ran to her now-murdered father, because she was scared by the loud gunfire noise.
Kirk was a moderate but committed conservative, simply wanting peaceable dialogue with others. Democrats however, being Satan-spawn, wanted none of it and murdered him, celebrating across social media.
Despite these happenings, certain members of the GOP establishment refuse to acknowledge the high-caliber malice we’re up against. Instead, they openly call for forgiveness and unity with those responsible for killings.
Thankfully, the average GOP voter isn’t this demented, and wants nothing but justice.
One thing is clear, whether it’s “Weather Underground” bombers in the 1970s or the aforementioned events: evil is endemic to the Left, and bipartisanship of any kind is impossible. While some talk of needing “two wings,” America needs a Left-wing like a body needs cancer, or a home needs a rat infestation.
Kirk was a great debater who expressed mirth for those around him, and always interacted in good faith. Sorrowfully, he was likely the last of his kind. Ponder on this for example: if videos of Muslims celebrating after 9/11 made Americans support bombing the Middle East, don’t you think the endless cacophony of Democrats celebrating Kirk’s murder will make them support the complete subjugation of the Left?
From: La Malinche:
Charlie Kirk was many things to many people. To me, he was a great leader in a movement I was proud to have been associated with. I had the honor of meeting Charlie and getting to know him throughout the years. Turning Point USA will never be the same.
Of all the things Charlie was, he was most importantly, saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I remember when Charlie started turning the tide and became more open and unapologetic about his faith. This was further refined by the powerful impact his wife Erika had on him.
Charlie always encouraged young people to work hard, believe in Christ, and have a family. As I heard of the news and saw the horrifying images, I looked over at my own daughter, the same age as Charlie's, and sobbed. What a fallen world? My husband came home today, Erika’s didn't. My daughter has her father's warm embrace, Erika’s can't and never will again.
In 1 Thessalonians 4:13, The Apostle Paul reminds us: “Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.”
We know where Charlie is. He is now in eternity with his Creator where there are no tears, no sorrow, and even no need for light, because Jesus reigns and the darkness can not overcome.
So while Charlie stands in glory, I think of Erika. And I think of his little girl.
RIP Charlie
Great write up, Tony. Thank you for capturing how so many of us are feeling right now
