Well, this is another fine example of political posturing for the press and the people. Major Texas airports ALREADY feature existing ablution stations and interfaith spaces. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has housed two ablution stations inside its post-security Interfaith Chapel in Terminal D since 2019, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston opened a dedicated prayer space and ritual washing facility in February 2024. The hullabaloo is about ADDING new ablution stations. Two stations are planned. One will be inside an existing men’s restroom. The other will be inside an existing women’s restroom on the concourse level.
Travelers would be able to use them inside existing men’s and women’s restrooms. This would give passengers another option beyond the Interfaith Chapel.
