States that have legalized this stuff are having all kinds of unforeseen problems because of it. We don't need more intoxicants. People need to face their problems and deal with them head-on. Running from them, taking the easy way out, only makes them worse. Americans are spoiled and lazy. I hope Abbott keeps his spine this time, such as it is. But like all other issues, he will listen to his big donors and do their bidding.

I was given fentanyl for my pain from a rare disease. Whole hemp, not a "high" got me off fentanyl and functioning as a normal average joe.

Ok well let’s ban alcohol then. Can’t be having these intoxicants around right?

Hasn't alcohol done enough damage without adding to it?

The states that have legalized pot for recreational purposes are the ones having the problems. At the time of Woodstock the best quality hashish was 4% THC while today cultivated marijuna used to make pot runs 20% THC. A full spectrum CBD is allowed .3% THC.

There have been studies that THC can be a successful therapy for some severe cases of certain diseases such as catatonic seizures when other therapies have been unsuccessful, but it should only prescribed by a doctor and kept to the minimum dose.

All that said, I agree with you and Dan Patrick that it is a slippery slope which could lead to legalization of all marijuana if the Democrats gain power again.

You are seeing some of these issues with marijuana (cannabis) being legalized, not the 0.3% THC that is currently and has been legal since 2019 (hemp). Cannabis and hemp are not the same, although they come from the same plant species, Cannabis sativa. The main difference lies in their THC content, with hemp containing 0.3% or less THC, making it non-intoxicating, while cannabis typically has higher THC levels that can produce a "high." It should be over 21 for these products, which does help to keep them away from children, which is what Dan said was the main issue and was supported by the hemp industry. If there was a major issue with these products, we would have seen the same issues you mentioned in other states over the past 6 years and we have not. I hope this helps you understand the difference and not to put hemp in the same category as cannabis...they are not the same, and hemp still has significant healing properties without the high of cannabis.

Dan Patrick just got a big endorsement from alcohol companies. Why don't we look into that. Which they testing beer with thin Austin bars .. umh.. Will close 8,000 shops and 50,000 jobs will be lost. So, this helped veterans so, much come off all the meds VA shoves down their throats. So, going make go thru the mercy program which less potency. Why do have vets like crap all the time. Time get oldmen out politics. Done say they are republicans but old cranky democrats. People need look who donates to them. I am the medical field. This going to to hurt children and vets

A cannabis test lab I spoke with said the AVERAGE THC content of consumables is 80%. Cannabis as a flower now can be grown around 30% if you are an expert grower, which is still very high in THC. When the industry drives profit through higher content THC, states increase tax revenue as the corporations increase theirs, and the young 18-30 year olds suffer …that’s where the problems started with our youth developing psychotic symptoms at a higher than normal rate.

Has anyone heard the latest about HB 3225? It was a bill that would stop all access to porn by children in public libraries. It died of neglect and Dan Patrick led the charge. I emailed him and told him I wanted a cogent, reasonable, and verifiable response as to why he did this. And that if I didn't get it, I would never vote for him again because protecting children is a non-negotiable. I intend to keep that promise. If Texas Republicans are willing to overlook this, and nominate him again, they deserve a Dem Lt. Governor.

Honey the civil war in the Texas GOP has already started with the Islamist EPIC fail and the GOP RINOs who gave the Texas House to the DEM commies. Hemp is only a symptom. Texans know pharma and CDC is still messed up and hemp has more benefit than harm so pressure…. It’s more like stopping the bs financed RINOs vs MAGA. MAGA wins or Greg Abbott is out!!!!!
