BREAKING: Texas Sen. Charles Schwertner ARRESTED For Drunk Driving
This isn't the first time he's been in trouble.
This is a developing story…
Texas State Senator Charles J. Schwertner of Georgetown was arrested and charged with drunk driving in Austin last night.
Schwertner is also the chair for the Business & Commerce Committee.
This isn’t the first time Sen Schwertner has been in trouble. In 2018 he was accused of sending a dick pic to a college student.
A state senator in Texas is accused of sending an explicit text message and a photo of his genitals to a University of Texas graduate student — telling her, “I just really want to f–k you,” according to unnamed university officials.
Schwertner, meanwhile, said he “categorically denies any knowledge of the accusations” and pledged to cooperate in the investigation, according to the statement to the newspaper.
“The Senator categorically denies any knowledge of the accusations leveled against him and only became aware of this allegation when contacted by the media late [Tuesday],” a spokesman for Schwertner said in a statement. “The Senator is eager to cooperate with the University of Texas and hopes to make clear he played no part in the behavior described.
Schwertner would go on to claim that the messages and pic came from his “account” but it wasn’t him, it was someone he shared his user login info with. Schwertner refused to identify who that person was.
Schwertner isn’t the first Texas elected official to get in trouble for drunk driving. Former State Rep. Dan Huberty was arrested on a DWI charge after crashing his sick Corvette into a van of Mexicans.
Dan Huberty, a Houston Republican who represents House District 127, was taken into custody after the crash at FM 1314 and Valley Ranch, according to the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.
Deputy constables responded to the crash around 9 p.m. and found Huberty's Corvette under an SUV, authorities said.
Huberty is accused of failing to stop for a red light before crashing into the SUV.
The three people in the SUV suffered minor injuries but refused treatment, authorities said. Huberty was not hurt.
After the incident he decided not to run for re-election and opened up a coffee and beer shop by the capitol instead.
Good times!
This is Charles. Send a pic.
Thanks for letting us know about the creeps some stupid voters elect. If not for you we would likely never hear a word about any of these incidents. What I would love to know is how many of these perps were DemocRATS before they became RepubliCANTS.
