A former leader of the youth wing of Cuba’s Communist Party, who holds dual citizenship and reportedly entered the United States in 2020 through fraudulent use of a temporary visa, is now facing manslaughter charges. The charges stem from an incident in which his semi-truck slammed into stopped highway traffic, killing five people and injuring several others 40 miles east of Dallas this weekend.
All it took was a quick online search to uncover the insane truth about the foreigner who lied his way into the country. It was all documented as it happened, and many people were saying at the time that the situation was deeply concerning and likely to end badly.
At least five people are dead and others are hurt after a crash on I-20 near Terrell on Saturday afternoon after the driver of an 18-wheeler fell asleep behind the wheel, according to Texas DPS.

Texas DPS says the driver of one of the 18-wheelers fell asleep behind the wheel and slammed into multiple other vehicles.
The 18-wheeler first hit an F-150 carrying five people, before crashing into two other 18-wheelers. One of the semis jack-knifed and struck a Jeep Compass, Ford Mustang and a Honda passenger vehicle.

Four of the people killed in the crash were in the F-150. The other was in the Jeep Compass.

Alexis Osmani Gonzalez-Companioni, 27, is facing five charges of manslaughter and a count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to public court records.
We looked at the name, then at the photo, and sighed. An executive editorial decision was made that an investigation was to be launched. And by “investigation,” I mean someone typed his name into a search bar and by “launched” I mean they pressed Enter.
Over the next several seconds, we found an individual with the same four names, with the approximate ages matching up, and looking uncannily similar to the mugshot, giving speeches about defending the permanent revolution against the imperialist United States as he served as the President of a state-aligned, Communist-affiliated student organization in Cuba.
The situation gets cartoonish as you notice Fidel Castro’s image is literally plastered across the comrade’s award.
At this point, a secondary investigation was launched into the source of these photos. Once again, in just a few seconds, it became evident that the negligence of our political leaders had directly contributed to the five fatalities in Saturday’s highway tragedy.
Cubanos por el Mundo (Cubans Around the World) is a Miami-based news publication ostensibly written for and by Cuban-exiles. They wrote about his journey to the US, showing how easy it has been to scam the system and live in our country illegally.
Alexis Osmani González Companioni, a young revolutionary who until last year presided over the FEU (Federal University of the University of the Interior) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Central de Las Villas "Marta Abreu," stopped turning off light bulbs in homes and workplaces in Villa Clara and ended up in the city of Miami—we don't yet know which city—doing what.
Many people argue we should import Electrical engineers, doctors, etc. These kinds of bills were filed in the Texas legislature by Republicans, and some even passed.
The source specifies that this young man, integrated into the revolutionary process, is a Spanish citizen and that, with ESTA permit in hand, he arrived in Miami with the intention of never returning to the island.
An ESTA permit is a 90-day visa that he was able to get because he had obtained duel citizenship with Spain—one of several dozen countries that are part of the ESTA exchange program. Cuban passport holders can’t use ESTA and it is illegal to obtain this visa if your intent is to never return to your home country. This means it was reported in the news when he arrived that González Companioni had violated our immigration law.
Of course, it gets worse.
His Twitter account was one of those suspended in 2019 for using artificial methods to amplify Castro's message, under hashtags such as "We Are Cuba," "We Are Continuity," etc.
It’s unknown how he was able to remain in the country and work as a licensed driver. It is unknown whether he was technically in the country illegally, or if he was able to obtain some kind of asylum or other Cuban-specific protections from deportation. It is illegal to use the ESTA visa to obtain asylum and members of the communist party are supposed to be inadmissible.
“Any alien who, by fraud or willfully misrepresenting a material fact, seeks to procure (or has sought to procure or has procured) a visa, other documentation, or admission into the United States or other benefit provided under this chapter is inadmissible.”
8 U.S. Code § 1182(a)(6)(C)(i), Misrepresentation
Any immigrant who is or has been a member of or affiliated with the Communist or any other totalitarian party (or subdivision or affiliate thereof), domestic or foreign, is inadmissible.
Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) § 212(a)(3)(D) — codified at 8 U.S.C. § 1182(a)(3)(D).
The article made the rounds on Facebook back in 2020. Many people noted this was illegal and bad. Since the article was in Spanish, the comments were only in Spanish.
Indeed Taide, that is why we are the way we are.
The man’s employer or other business ties have not been verified.
Texas does not require the use of E-verify for employers of CDL truck drivers, or any private business for that matter, despite Republican politician’s rhetoric as they boast about their immigration and border accomplishments.
In 2015, Texas lawmakers passed an E-Verify law covering less than 3% of the state’s workforce during their so-called “most conservative session ever.” They haven’t done anything since. Sure, 3% beats zero—but if you’re paying attention, you’ll see exactly why Texas Republicans deserve their reputation as scam artists.
Americans die every single day from encounters with random foreigners in their own cities. You are only hearing about this one because the circumstances are so cartoonish.
Texas Republicans are the worst bunch in the country at running for reelection on issues they solved 3%. We need to reset Texas Republicans like we need to reset the country.
