Johny Alamo, aka chiropractor John Botefuhr, holds a grudge against me because when he was running for City Council, I exposed his loutish behavior in a bar and his apparent arrest at a grocery store.

I hold a grudge against Montgomery J. Bennett because he once hired actors to stage a fake protest outside our office. The actors held signs calling me a racist. Bennett's publication, the Dallas Express, was the only outlet to report on this "protest."

And now I will carry a DEEP grudge against Botefuhr. This article is slanderous. Slanderous, I say! I would never drink ranch water. I'm an IPA guy.

Since when do you and I have drinks at LCC? Everybody knows that the PR Machine is fueled by beers at the Lakewood Growler.

My bad, I should have known Matt and Josh taught you well. But IPA's..? that's soooo 2010. Loutish, eh? Was that according to the "anonymous" source? I highly doubt that person had that word in their vernacular. I'm sure nothing on Barry just being quite the timid little mouse too, huh? And whatever happened to that "source" while they were a city staffer under Baz anyway? From what I heard it was scandalous and didn't end very well. Any follow ups?

TBH,I don't hold a grudge. I knew what I was getting into. Although the haughty phone tone of "When the editor of Dmagazine calls you, YOU CALL THEM BACK!" still makes me laugh a bit. Would have been funnier, but making sure my brothers' obit made it in the DMN took some precedence that day. But thanks for that cool crossout headline still up there. Is that a slander loophole?

John- Consider yourself lucky that you got a call from Tim before your hit piece from DMAG. "Journalist" Bethany Erickson didn't give me that courtesy before publishing a story about me in the same publication.

Luckily I was actually trained in journalism which allowed me to track Bethany's number in mere seconds! When I got her on the phone and asked her why she didn't give me a courtesy call, she said she couldn't find my number or my very public husband's number online, despite the fact that you can google our names and find them. Hilarious! But at least it was helpful to have a little insight into the journalistic ethics (or lack thereof) followed by DMAG. - Natalie LeVeck
