Bitter GOP Ex-County Chair Sends Questionable Mailer
Former Parker County GOP Chair, and possibly heavily disliked person in general, Zan Prince, has sent out a very misleading mailer which looks like the Parker County GOP is making recommendations.
Zan has a history of weird name high jinks. In late 2010, the Parker County Tea Party claimed Zan Prince, the elected chair of the Parker County Republican Party at the time, effectively swiped the “Parker County Tea Party” name from the actual Parker County Tea Party and registered it as a PAC with herself as treasurer.
Fast forward 11 years and it seems Zan is still pulling the same tomfoolery. This time she’s using a font gimmick to make it seem like an endorsement from the official Parker County Republican Party, when it’s actually a mailer from her own group.
You can see why someone would assume this looking at the mailer.
The mailer directs to a very cringe website that immediately exhausted me and made me quit politics for the rest of the night.
As you scroll down, it offers “Helpful Links.” The very first one— the Parker County Republican Women’s website.
The group, by pure coincidence, is Chaired by Zan herself.
The Parker County Republican Women’s site has Zan’s face front and center on the page. It also seems the website’s event page hasn’t been updated since at least last year.
Both PACs Zan has created are registered at 200 Palo Pinto St – First Bank of Texas where she also happens to be the Chairman of the Board.
So what’s the deal? Who knows. We don’t speculate here at CR — only the facts. And the facts have been found to be cringe and weird.
Zan was ousted from her County Chair position in the last election and it looks like she’s still trying to retain, or claw back, some control.
The Weatherford Democrat has a very lengthy piece showing Parker County Precinct chairs very unhappy with Zan’s endorsements and scheming. This was likely the reason she lost her re-election to chair after serving since 2004.
Through a Political Action Committee (PAC) she controls, Prince has doled out support to 16 precinct chair candidates facing challengers…
The PAC is helping fund challengers to at least five incumbent precinct chairs.
This is a lesson in political theory. Don’t think that someone is above stooping as low as possible over a powerless and petty position just so they can pretend they have power and status.
There is Machiavellianism everywhere. You can’t even vote on these fake and gay constitutional amendments on the ballot without someone trying to scheme and trick you.
Unfortunately for her, the people of Parker County have wised up and she’ll have to come up with a different method than her usual name switcheroo.
