Did Mayra Flores Use Campaign Funds for a Disney World Trip?
Photo exposes a possible campaign funded vacation.
Mayra Flores, a US congressional candidate, who has been a pioneer in the campaign-as-career field, was spotted earlier this year coming back from a Disney World trip potentially booked using campaign funds.
In a photo taken on July 14th, Flores can be seen at a Chili’s restaurant at Dallas Love Field airport with two young family members. Flores is holding a large Disney World bag with several stuffed animals on the chair in front of her.
Current Revolt confirmed metadata in the photo matched the date of 7/14/25 and the location of Dallas Love Field Airport.
Quarterly finance reports for Flores show six Southwest Airlines ticket purchases. The date for three of the disbursements is 7/11/25 and the other three are for 7/14/25 which directly matches the date the photo was taken.
Additionally, the ticket prices are the same amounts for the departing flights and the same amount for the return flights.
The purchased ticket quantity matches up with the amount of people in the photo which includes Flores and her two young family members.
Current Revolt spoke to individuals close to Flores who stated that Flores told them she took a Disney World trip.
Mayra Flores’ campaign finance reports have faced heavy scrutiny recently as donors and voters have noticed that she is taking a substantial salary and paying family members using her campaign account.
In the most recent quarterly report, Flores took in at least $18,500 in salary with an additional $4,000 going to family members. The previous quarter she paid herself a $20,000 salary.
Flores’ opponent recently outraised both her and the Democratic candidate as posted by Brad Johnson of The Texan.
Mark McCaig from The Texas Voice noted that Flores had used all the campaign cash it had raised during the quarter.
However, Mayra Flores’ campaign burned through nearly all the campaign cash it raised during the quarter. According to Mayra Flores’ campaign finance report, her campaign spent $421,444 during the reporting period, leaving it with just $148,010 on hand. Mayra Flores’ high campaign spending was largely attributable to the high cost of the small-dollar direct mail and digital fundraising program her campaign implemented. Despite bringing in $428,946 last quarter, Mayra Flores’ campaign cash on hand increased by just $7,501.38 over the previous quarter.
The Mayra Flores campaign did not respond to inquires from Current Revolt about the Disney World trip.
