Exclusive: Rep. Giovanni Capriglione Faces Affair Allegations from Texas Woman

Capriglione abruptly dropped reelection plans earlier this week.

Update 10:30am: Rep. Capriglione has issued a response via Renzo Downey on X:

Alex Grace, who describes herself as a former exotic dancer and mother of four, alleges she had a long-term affair with Republican State Representative Giovanni Capriglione (HD 98) beginning approximately in 2004. She said she decided to share her story publicly out of ethical concerns and a sense of personal obligation due to Capriglione’s influential political position.

Grace provided an emotional account of her relationship with Capriglione, emphasizing his secrecy and paranoia, along with allegations of hypocrisy regarding abortion. She also revealed comments she alleges he made privately involving children.

Questions and requests for comment about this story, sent via text and email to Capriglione’s attorney, remained unanswered at the time of writing.

Earlier this week, Republican State Representative Giovanni Capriglione shocked constituents by abruptly withdrawing from his bid for an 8th term, despite having publicly announced his candidacy and secured the complete and total endorsement of President Trump and Governor Abbott just weeks prior.

Links to Capriglione’s posts on X were apparently disabled sometime after his sudden announcement that he would no longer seek reelection.

You can read his full statement here.

The day after his announcement of retirement, Current Revolt received a cease and desist from a lawyer claiming to represent Capriglione.

The above interview is the story of a woman who alleges an affair. The First Amendment says she has the right to tell her story. Although threats of legal action are concerning, we stand firmly behind the principle articulated by John Adams: “The liberty of the press is essential to the security of freedom in a state.”
