Hammer Sneak-Attack, Kidnap Attempt at Dusk on Woman Jogger
Ever get so bored that you ended up stalking a woman jogging at sundown and just try overpowering her with a weapon? That was apparently on the agenda for 17-year-old Sergio Noe De Nova Duarte.
Duarte allegedly struck the jogger with a hammer in the 2300 block of Shiloh Road around 5 p.m. Thursday, according to a statement by police. He fled the scene, police said, and the woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries by Plano Fire-Rescue.
Plano police said the suspect was unknown to the victim.
A witness called Plano police reporting a woman lying on the ground bleeding with serious injuries, NBC5 reported, and police found evidence of duct tape used at the scene.
