Already known for his career as a clandestine CIA agent, Texas ex-Rep. Will Hurd has entered the 2024 GOP Presidential primary field. A NeverTrumper representing a border district, we predict Hurd’s run will flop bigly.
Hurd is infamous for promoting Leftist policies, all of which prohibit him from claiming the label of Center-Right. There’s little difference between him and a Democrat excluding tax policies.
Open Borders Advocacy
Considering his support for amnesty/DACA, Hurd’s remarks are unsurprising. During the Trump years, Hurd showed his true colors and supported the deletion of America’s borders. Though he’s semi-pivoted and recently gave lip service to the need for border security, Hurd neglects to mention the policies he backed resulted in the present border horde incursions.
BLM Insurrection Support.
During BLM’s 2020 “Summer of Love,” Hurd marched with insurrectionists in Houston, and demanded “justice” for the overdose death of George Floyd. While he encouraged “peaceful” protest, supporting Neomarxists and spouting dangerous conspiracy theories like systemic racism is unbefitting for those wanting authority and influence.
Wants to Start WWIII
Even after stopping CIA work, he’s benefitting from the military-industrial complex. I mean, does he acknowledge a “no-fly zone” over Ukraine would require military enforcement, and inevitable nuclear war with Russia?
With a pathologically pro-war stance, along with his open borders advocacy, his campaign slogan may as well be “Invade the world, invite the world.”
Ironically, he lacks kids of his own but wants to conscript yours to agonizingly die in nuclear hellfire.
BFFs With Beto
Another fact about Hurd is he’s extremely close to Robert “Beto” O’Rourke; so close Beto dragged his feet endorsing a Democrat opponent. Their friendship would lead to Hurd sponsoring Beto’s HR 1036 in 2018, which would have allowed illegal aliens to stay stateside if they shack up with an American citizen. Considering this, there’s a possibility Hurd could nominate Beto as his running mate.
In all fairness to Hurd, this may just be a retirement plan before he disappears into total irrelevance. Look how desperate he seems to be for donations:
Disturbingly though, this may be a ploy to integrate himself into the post-Trump GOP order, considering those platformed by GOP elites spout similar talking points to Hurd. The powers that be would rather uplift Hurd and other professional hoaxers, than someone normal people actually like.
Regardless of Hurd’s motives, he was roasted all over Twitter for his ill-thought announcement. Seriously, how does he expect to win?
Overall, he’s got no chance. The 2024 race is getting crazier, and everyone, from Governors (maybe even Abbott) to pastors, are running. If Trump underperforms, we’ll see a brokered convention in which Texas delegates could play a king-making role. This next election is bound to be the biggest, most chaotic circus we’ve seen in a while. With plenty of time between now and the 2024 Texas primaries, there’s plentiful happenings that might ensue, including some surprises (good and bad).
On a positive note, that guarantees endless material for us to write on; whatever happens, we’ll be your prime source covering the inevitable pandemonium. We didn’t start the fire, but we’re surely covering it. Welcome to the circus.
If he’s a “modern Republican”, I’m happy to stick with the old-fashioned kind……thanks for bringing those unfamiliar with him up to speed on who he is and what he doesn’t stand for
Trump will be the Republican nominee. You can either get on board now or be part of the problem. Your choice.
