Grand Theft COVID: Houston
Lina Hidalgo gets paid. Staffers get Indicted.
Via The Texan (big fans btw)
Facing mounting public criticism and threats of investigation, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo (D) announced Wednesday she would move to cancel a controversial $11 million contract awarded to a highly connected Democrat for COVID-19 vaccine outreach.
“The way it’s being politicized is getting in the way of getting people vaccinated,” said Hidalgo.
Last week, the public learned that Hidalgo had assembled a five-person committee consisting of three of her own staffers and two others from the county health department to review proposals and select a vendor.
They aren’t threats any longer. The three staffers have been arrested and indicted.
Luckily, the three staffers had completed a combined total of 438 hours of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training and knew that because of their white privilege they should take the fall instead of Lina Hidalgo at the top.
You see what most Texans don’t understand is this is how democracy works in our state now. You lie to the people, get elected and then hand out taxpayer cash to you homies. The 11 million dollar contract was awarded to Felicity Pereyra and her one-woman firm Elevate Strategies.
Here’s Fecility’s Twitter bio:
Hidalgo was probably going to be the next US congressman out of Houston and wanted that sweet Hillary Clinton endorsement. She might still be…who knows how much of your money she paid out to democrat cronies.
Anyway, if you are an elected official and would like to award CR with some kind of contract we would be very grateful.
