Midland County Judge ARRESTED
Midland County Judge Terry Johnson has been arrested after doxing local-internet hero Nino America (Christino Rodriquez) by posting his social security number, driver’s license number, and date of birth online.
Midland County Judge Terry Johnson was arrested Wednesday, that’s according to information from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.
Terry Johnson is charged with: Two counts of Misuse of Official Information, Fraud Use Possess Info. Less than 5 Items, Abuse of Official Capacity.
MCSO officials say that Johnson has paid his $7,500 bond and was released from jail.
Johnson responded to his arrest through his attorney where he denied the allegations and claims he didn’t intend to harm Rodriguez. Johnson also stated he took the identifying information down within thirty minutes of posting it. However, the internet is written in ink, and 30 minutes on Facebook might as well be a lifetime.
Johnson’s attorney put out a five point press release the same day explaining why his client is not guilty. The release names Christino Rodriquez six times and misspells it six times. This is the document arguing Johnson meant Nino no harm, and they couldn’t even bother to spell his name correctly.
It also goes back for the smear. The original Facebook caption called Rodriquez a “Convicted felon trying to be a player.” The release doubles down, citing his “multiple felony convictions and criminal record.” Twice now Johnson has called this man a felon in public. Twice he has produced nothing. No case number, no court, no date. A man with enough access to pull Rodriquez’s Social Security number cannot seem to locate a single conviction record.
Point three argues the document was “public information that is obtainable from the Midland County Courthouse at any time” and “available to anyone.” That document had a Social Security number in it. If Social Security numbers are available to anyone at the Midland County Courthouse, that is a bigger story than this one.
Point three then insists Johnson "did not use the information in an unauthorized way." He posted it on Facebook
And then the release ends like this:
Judge Johnson’s purpose was to show that the years of false information spread by Christino Rodriguez should not be believed. Christino Rodriguez’s incessant rabble-rousing and attacks against Midland County should not be justified or rewarded.
That is the last thing his lawyer wanted you to read. Not an apology, and not one word for the guy whose Social Security number is loose on the internet. Just one more shot at him, misspelled, in the statement announcing Johnson’s innocence.
