Judges Disagree on Fate of Abbott’s Stupid Border Floaties
Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s orange river rafts are the biggest hoax of the year.
The floaties, which resemble large bath toys, are being used to encourage illegal aliens to simply come into Texas normally over roads and bridges instead of trying to swim across the Rio Grande.
The effort is part of Operation Lone Star, a money laundering scheme disguised as a border security program that falsely claims to be securing the southern border of the United States, ostensibly to help Greg Abbott politically.
Now, a federal judge has overturned another judge’s order to overturn previous orders regarding the fate of the water balloons in the river.
We live in a very serious country.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday temporarily halted a district judge’s order for Texas to remove from its river border with Mexico a thousand-foot-long buoy barrier put in place to deter crossings, a decision that will maintain the status quo as the appeals court considers a longer-term stay.
In documents filed on Thursday, Texas’ legal team pushed the court to issue the stay pending appeal, arguing that the state’s sovereignty and self-defense interests would be irreparably harmed — even if the court eventually ruled in favor of Texas. The state’s lawyers further argued that the barrier was necessary because the state is under “invasion” from drug cartels, leaning into a conservative legal theory that contends states have the constitutional power to enforce border security if its people are in imminent danger.
The drug cartels have made billions off of human smuggling via Texas. They say it was $13 billion last year; it’s likely double that this year, as cartel profits have been increasing exponentially under Greg Abbott. Just a coincidence, of course.
Here are the facts: Greg Abbott and Dade Phelan are telling illegal aliens to come to Texas—saying illegals shouldn’t cross the river and instead should come through ports of entry. They have never said “don’t come” or “we don’t want invaders.” There is no discernible difference between Dade Phelan’s position on the border and Joe Biden’s.
This agenda is dumping kids on us, and we are told we must pay for them to have a world-class education simply because they exist. We are told, under the color of law, that they have a right to show up and have you pay for their kids.
It’s quite the scam.
State Representative Brian Harrison was recently asked if this type of behavior from Republicans was “treason?” To which Harrison responded “that’s a tough question.”
It ain’t a tough question for me!
We are being completely steamrolled by this invasion agenda, and all we have is this floatie solution—touted by House Speaker Dade Phelan as “innovative” and “surprising” in February—which placed idiotic balloons into navigable waters of the United States.
This was said to be a solution related to illegal aliens coming in the millions. It’s hard to come to terms with how stupid this is and understand how people can put up with this abuse.
The latest AP photo shows a guy about to jump over one.
Millions will cross while these court cases play out. Most Texas Republicans are pretending like things are fine.
It would have been much better if Abbott would have done a bunch of press releases about a new cannibal cartel gang that was kidnapping and eating migrants. This would have cost taxpayers almost nothing, unlike the floaties, and would have made people think twice about coming near the border.
Instead, we get lies about “securing the border.”
Do the math—they pay $9,000 for the family to cross, and you pay $10,000 per year in public schools to educate the child they smuggled over.
The math don’t add up!
I may be a bit ignorant about this, but I am guessing that Abbott is trying to screen the people coming in, and that is why he wants to funnel them into the checkpoints? I have heard that bodies are found on people's property. I have a friend who is down on the border now, with her daughter who has a farm there, and they find bodies all the time on their farm. So sending the people towards the preferred checkpoints will prevent locals from having to deal with the illegals.
Ten grand a year is a drop in the bucket to the rest of the perks they get once here. Just go look at the info on the Refugee Resettlement Program overseen by the Dept of Health & Human Resources.
