DEATH PENALTY HALTED
Unprecedented happenings this week and a roller coaster of a Thursday.…
The Texas Supreme Court on Thursday temporarily halted the execution of a man scheduled to become the first person to be put to death in the United States for murder attributed to shaken baby syndrome, according to a court document.
The Texas Supreme Court ruled in favor of a bipartisan group of state lawmakers who asked that the execution, scheduled to take place on Thursday evening, be delayed.
The lawmakers requested the delay after issuing an unprecedented subpoena on Wednesday for death row inmate Robert Roberson to appear before them and answer questions about his case.
There’s been a lot of back and forth online between multiple groups and politicians, all taking sides in the case surrounding the execution of Robert Roberson. The group behind stopping the execution is especially interesting as it consists of Democrats and Republicans like Texas House Reps Rep. Schatzline, Rep. Harrison, and Rep. Leach among others.
Lots of arguments for and against the execution of Roberson, we invite our readers to hear both sides and make their own informed opinion.
What we think is a huge flex is that Rep. Leach argued his case for the subpoena of Roberson from his car and won.
Rep Leach along with Rep Moody released the following statement:
We hope to continue to see this level of ingenuity for issues like our border and securing our elections.
Monday will be an interesting day.
Tarrant County Election on LOCKDOWN
In the midst of widespread election chicanery, Republican Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare is determined to have an honest election in the nation’s largest red county.
O’Hare announced a series of measures on Monday he says will bolster security and increase transparency in the election process.
We‘re using AI to break it down.
All in-person voting will utilize pre-printed, serialized, sequentially numbered ballots.
Rally site procedures now ensure ballot bags will be properly sealed by Election Judges.
Election night results will be transmitted in-person rather than via internet.
Implemented public search and viewing capability for ballot images.
I honestly didn’t think ballot transparency could get any stronger.
Enhanced and improved chain of custody for ballot bags, Election Judge paperwork, ballot storage box keys, and provisional ballots.
Improved Election Judge paperwork for greater clarity and transparency.
Even the paperwork is getting upgraded.
Enhanced training for Election Judges and Clerks, ensuring statutory compliance and increased ballot security.
Ballots will be stored by polling location in dedicated boxes.
