This week we’ve got info on the Williamson County GOP chair supporting Democrats in committee chair positions, a Frisco mom reads content from a pornographic book available to students to the Frisco ISD board and is stopped, rumors of betrayal of a Republican former elected official in Collin County, and Fort Worth’s Sex Ed curriculum is now referring to men and women as “bodies with a penis or a vagina.”
Williamson County GOP Chair Supports Democrats in Chair Positions
Steve Armbuster, Chairman of the Williamson County Republican Party, sent an email out to the WilCo GOP Exec Committee earlier this week asking it’s members to vote against a resolution that would ban Democrats in committee chair positions in Texas.
“The first [resolution]… is the hard one. On its surface, it sounds good. It calls for there to be no democrats appointed to be committee chairs in either the Texas House or Texas Senate. This practice of giving part of the committee chairmanships to the minority party is something that predates the Republican control of the Texas House. Prior to Republican Tom Craddick being elected to the Speaker of the House, the Democrats held majorities and appointed Republicans to committee chairmanships. If this practice ends I predict one of two things happening. First, the democrats will stop all legislation on the floor and will prevent anything from being considered. And second, I expect the democrats to form an alliance with some of the more centrist or moderate members of our team to choose a new Speaker of the House. This can happen at any time during the session. The election for Speaker is not a "once and done" event. At any time if a majority of the members don't like the Speaker for whatever reason they can call for a new election and replace him.
If this passes out of the EC, then we put Terry Wilson and Caroline Harris in a literal "lose-lose" situation. They will be forced to either side with EC and run contrary to leadership in the House and this will result in any legislation brought forward for Williamson County to get stymied, or they will vote with leadership and put them at odds with the Republican base here at home.
My preference is that we elect people of good conscience and enable them to represent their district with our full support when they have full access to the issues before them.
I would ask that you vote this resolution down.
Thank you.

Steve Armbruster
Chairman, Williamson County Republican Party”
Frankly, this is traitorous behavior and he should be censured immediately.
Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, Matt Rinaldi, wrote a thread on Twitter this week highlight that Democrats made up 40% of House leadership positions last session and how Dems used these positions to do their normal thing of calling Republicans racists and fascists and all that other lefty drivel.
Frankly anyone supporting Democrats in these positions should be considered highly sus and watched closely.
Although Armbuster is no stranger to supporting Democrats, we wrote about him supporting a Democrat, posing as a Republican, who eventually lost in his primary race.
