Brent Hagenbuch in Trouble Over Residency Issues?
In the race for SD30, Brent Hagenbuch may not be qualified to run.
Four people are running for SD30, including Hagenbuch. The other three have filed suits or complaints against him, alleging he isn’t a resident of Senate District 30.
Jace Yarbrough, one of the candidates for SD30, filed a petition with the Texas Second Court of Appeals and alleges that not only does Hagenbuch not live in SD30, but the address he’s using to claim residency is a commercial building. The same one for his business, Titus Transport.
We pulled up the address in Google Maps and sure enough, it’s a multi-tenant office building.
Last week, the court came out and stated they had a tentative opinion that there was a serious question concerning the petition.
They also ordered that Hagenbuch respond to the court by 5:00pm Monday, January 8th, three days from now.
The court also stated that they may consider and decide on the case before any replies are filed by January 15th.
The language used in this letter seems rather serious, and that doesn’t bode well for Hagenbuch.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on the race for SD30.
