Monty Montanez Becomes Dallas GOP Chairman
Yesterday the Dallas GOP held an election for their new chairman. This comes after a rough few months in the aftermath of former Chairman Allen West’s sudden endorsement/abandonment from the role.
Tami Rodriquez had taken over the last several months, promising (and delivering) more transparency from the party as well as a focus on winning elections over party drama.
Rodriquez decided to run for chair this term, as did Monty Montanez.
Montanez ran for congress in TX-32 recently but did not win the Republican primary race. Montanez, now running as the Chairman of the Dallas GOP, promised he would focus on fundraising among other things.
When it came time to vote, Montanez won, beating Rodriquez 72-52.
