Irving High School Teacher Arrested for Pro-Gaza Protests
Baiyinah Abullah, a teacher at Irving High School was arrested earlier this year for blocking employees of a Garland company from leaving or entering work.
For five hours on March 7, the 23 protesters shut down all entrances and exits to the General Dynamics location at 1200 N. Glenbrook Drive in Garland.
The group prevented employees from leaving or entering the plant and blocked both the northbound and southbound lanes of North Glenbrook Drive with vehicles, according to the Garland Police Department. After refusing to clear the roadway, 23 protesters were arrested and the vehicles were towed.
Abullah was previously given an award for “New Teacher of the Year” from the previous high school she taught at.
Abullah, a science teacher at Irving High, was also part of a panel titled “Stop Cop City” speaking on behalf of National Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression.
Eventually, Abullah had her charges dropped when a pre-trial intervention program was negotiated.
Pro-Gaza protestors made news recently when they took to Washington to burn American flags and deface our American symbols.
Abullah engaged in protest activities preventing innocence from attending or leaving work and was arrested for such. Meanwhile her salary is paid for with your tax dollars.
