Welcome to our weekly post of “Many People Are Saying” where we feature rumors we’re hearing, inside gossip in the political world, and projects and pieces we’re working on that we haven’t published yet.
This is a bonus feature for our paid subs, so if you’re interested, please subscribe!
This week we’ve got an analysis of the failing Dallas Morning News, a recent request by one of their reporters to DFW courts, and a look at the weird transsexual bathrooms Frisco residents are funding with their taxpayer dollars.
The Failing Dallas Morning News is…failing
If you live in Texas chances are you don’t know someone who actually pays to read The Dallas Morning News(DMN).
DMN has been around since 1885 and was once the lone major newspaper for the Dallas market. But it’s been downhill for a while. Especially after endorsing Hillary Clinton for president back in 2016.
Since then it’s mostly just be a rag for leftist drivel, peddling the views and opinions of literally every other mainstream, corporate media outlet in Texas and across the nation.
Which is probably why they only have 52,000 digital subscribers across Texas as of 2021.
DMN: $30 million dollars cash on hand and 52,000 digital subs.
You do the math on whether they’re effective or not.
Maybe consider supporting your favorite right wing rag (us) with a $5 subscription.
So why does DMN’s lack of influence and readership matter?
Well…
Leftist DMN Reporter Chases Story, Nobody Cares
DMN Investigative Reporter, Lauren McGaughy recently sent out a “survey” to judges across DFW asking if they perform marriages for same-sex couples.
The funny part being that this email was sent at 1pm on July 21 and she demanded a response only 24 hours later with a threat of being “noted” in a final story.
Fast forward 2 weeks and obsessive amount of phone calls and judges still aren’t giving her the time of day.
So she sent out another demand email.
Note the fact that the due date from her original email obviously didn’t stick, also the amount of questions decreased.
She also amped up her threat to include an in-person visit.
Oh no.
The in-person visit didn’t go well so she left a physical letter.
It sounds like a really boring story being worked on here and it’s very clear the threats, phone calls, and in-person visits aren’t working on anyone. So the story is probably DOA, which is why it wasn’t published around it’s original date in July.
People have wised up and realized that nobody reads DMN anymore and nobody cares what they think. Because of that, nobody bothers to respond.
Tough break.
Frisco Residents Are Funding Trans Restrooms
If you or your kids are hitting the locker room at the Frisco Athletic Center you might wanna double check to make sure it’s all clear before you potentially strip down in front of a dude wearing women’s clothing.
