Welcome to “Many People Are Saying,” our once a week article where we feature rumors we’re hearing, inside gossip in the political world, and other interesting things going on in our great state of Texas.

THIS WEEK:

  • Republicans are getting arrested for pot!

  • A private Christian school is still mandating vaccines.

  • VIDEO: Mayra Flores is angry!

  • Worst Charlie Kirk post ever gets teacher fired from job.

Kaufman County Republican Party Treasurer Arrested for POT

Showing that smoking the reefer isn’t limited to just the libs, Kaufman County Republican Party Treasurer, Brian Casey Townsend, was arrested last month for pot and paraphernalia.

The Monitor:

Kaufman ISD Board of Trustees member Brian Townsend was arrested by the Kaufman Police Department Aug. 24.
Townsend was pulled over by a Kaufman PD officer on East U.S. 175 in Kaufman near FM 1390 around 1 a.m. according to a Kaufman PD incident report.

While details of the traffic stop are not available, the report did show that Townsend was arrested for possession of marijuana (less than 2 oz.) and drug paraphernalia.

Me waiting for the body cam footage to be released:

Townsend was listed as the Kaufman County Republican Party Treasurer in a February agenda.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has been on a warpath attempting to ban weed this session and Townsend’s photo before and after smoking weed gives Patrick the ammo he needs to continue his quest for a full ban.

Private Christian School Still Mandating the VAX?

According to a tip from a reader, Hill County Christian Academy in Austin is still mandating vaccines for its students and not allowing any sort of exemptions.

They banned the exemptions during Covid, saying only medical exemptions with “specific reasons” would be accepted.

Being a private Christian school you would kind of think that religious exemptions would be allowed, but that doesn’t look to be the case here.

This seems like a good place for a school choice joke, but after 50 vaccines in 30 days to get up to date to attend the school, I keep forgetting the punchline halfway through typing it.

At the time of writing, it remains unknown exactly how much Tylenol the mothers of school officials took while pregnant. We’ll continue monitoring this situation.

VIDEO: Mayra Flores Gets MAD

“You were not part of history last year” - Mayra Flores

Mexico’s own Mayra Flores, a candidate for Congressional House District 34, got into a heated exchange with fellow Republican candidate Gregory Knuckle when Knuckle questioned Flores’ ability to win the TX-34 election.
