MONITORING THE SITUATION (1/14/25)
Here are the situations we are monitoring just for you.
Turkish Citizen Criticizes Texas Republican Party (wack)
U-Haul Confirms Everyone is Fleeing to Texas (also wack)
(wack) Lawsuit Filed Against “Texas” Journalist Sarah Fields
Turkish Guy is Critical of Texas Republican Party
A political influencer account with around 150,000 followers on X by the name of “The General” recently attacked Republican Party of Texas Chairman Abraham George over George’s grammar issues and being Indian.
The General himself however, is a Turkish citizen based on information from X’s new feature that displays where the account is based out of:
X has an ongoing issue with accounts that are heavily engaged in U.S. news, politics, or criticism who often present themselves (explicitly or implicitly) as American users when in reality many are operated by foreign individuals or entities located outside the United States.
U-Haul Confirms Everyone is Fleeing to Texas
According to U-Haul’s 2025 Growth Index, Dallas, Houston, and Austin rank as the top three U.S. metropolitan areas where customers are dropping off one-way rental trucks, meaning they’re the most popular final destinations for people moving in.
As far as leading growth cities (non metro), McKinney, Seguin, New Braunfels, and Conroe rank in the top twenty.
Hopefully, the people moving here vote in ways that preserve what makes Texas appealing. Otherwise, they risk turning it into the same kind of places they’re leaving behind.
Lawsuit Filed Against Texas “Journalist” Sarah Fields
A lawsuit has been filed yesterday against Texas “journalist” Sarah Fields.
The filing, filled with numerous spelling and grammatical errors, accuses Fields of defamation. Multiple lawyers we spoke with said the filing looks baseless.
Fields’ work has been highlighted previously in Current Revolt when, due to shoddy journalism, Fields incorrectly named two women in stories that caused both women to receive death threats.
After Current Revolt posted the filing on X, Fields’ lawyer claimed that she hadn’t been sued. Fields herself also disputed the fact that the lawsuit existed.
Her lawyer would later recant and say they just hadn’t been served yet.
So yeah, a real lawsuit filed against Fields that will likely be dismissed.
Current Revolt reached out to Fields for questions and comment but she did not give permission to publish her reply.
The entirety of the lawsuit can be downloaded and read here:

I am highly critical of the Texas GOP and I am part of it. Too many Republican leaders are losers and cowards. I have seen this behavior too many times.
Current Revolt I for one want to hear what she says. I want to support "citizen journalist" but you don't get many changes when what you put out as truth is easy to show it is lies. BE a real journalist We desperately need more because we now can see that we have newsreaders but no reporters. The few citizen journalist we do have*have posted some very shocking truths but IMO I think much of it was "Let me ask a question"...that they did not go into something already knowing the outcome. That is what journalist is supposed to be. Thanks Current Revolt for covering this story.
