SREC Candidate WITHDRAWS After Current Revolt Inquiry
Current Revolt was set to publish a story about an individual slated to replace an outgoing member on the SREC. After CR sought comment from him regarding his candidacy and his troubling past, he informed Current Revolt by email that he had withdrawn from consideration.
It seems that some in the SREC were so sure they were going to ram this guy into an SREC spot that they already had his name pre-printed on table cards for the SREC Thursday night banquet.
Current Revolt originally reported on X this was from a Dallas GOP Gala, this was incorrect.
Bullet dodged.
SREC Member Sends E-Mail Response Threatening Congressional Candidate
Following a story Current Revolt wrote regarding congressional candidate Lauren Pena, SREC Member Randy Purham sent a threatening email to Pena regarding her run for office.
Pena provided the email in full to Current Revolt:
SREC Member Purham issued several threats in his email with lines like:
“I could have easily destroyed your entire livelihood just on that alone”
“you do not know the magnitude in which things could be much worse for you and your family if people wanted to make it so.”
“people who will go out of their way and do the smear tactics, do background checks, and seek out every part of your life without you even knowing and expose you”
“Whatever you may think of me or others is perfectly fine and your right, but just know and understand that my philosophy in everything I do is Diplomacy, Deterrence, Defend, then Destroy.”

Following a story Current Revolt published about candidate Craig Jackson, Jackson announced on Facebook he was no longer considering running.
Republican Party of Texas HIDES SREC Meeting Video
Following our publishing of the debate between RPT Chairman Abraham George and SREC Member Jeremy Story, the Republican Party of Texas put the live stream of the meeting in private mode, preventing the public from viewing it.
Current Revolt has uploaded the meeting stream in the interest of transparency and for public view.
