Trump Says He Will Endorse in Senate Race and Ask Other Candidate to Drop Out.
President Trump posted an update on Truth Social yesterday stating that he would be endorsing in the Senate race and then asking the candidate he didn’t endorse to drop out of the race.
Social media went wild with the announcement, with many assuming Trump would be endorsing John Cornyn.
The betting markets also reflected the announcement, flipping in favor of John Cornyn over Ken Paxton:
Ashley Parker with The Atlantic would later publish an article also stating that Trump would be endorsing Cornyn:
President Trump’s political advisers expect him to endorse Senator John Cornyn in Texas’s May 26 Republican-primary runoff election following the incumbent’s better-than-expected finish against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the first round of voting yesterday, three people briefed on the deliberations told us.
We’ll continue monitoring this situation.
Sid Miller Posting Through the Pain?
On Tuesday, Nate Sheets was able to defeat longtime Agriculture Commissioner, Sid Miller.
Many were shocked by the result, as Miller had astounding name recognition and a loyal base of supporters.
On Facebook the following day, where Miller has over 1.1M followers, Miller seemingly continued to post unrelated updates to his social media:
That’s a nice picture of a cow.
Tony Gonzales Confirms Current Revolt Reporting From Six Months Ago
Yesterday on the Joe Pags YouTube Channel, Tony Gonzales finally came clean and admitted that he had an affair with his late staffer.
“I made a mistake and I had a lapse in judgement and there was a lack of faith and I take full responsibility for those actions. Since then, I have reconciled with my wife, Angel, I have asked God to forgive me, which he has, and my faith is as strong as ever.”
- Tony Gonzales.
Gonzales didn’t seem to convey much remorse in his statement nor address the fact that he lied to reporters, specifically Bayliss Wagner, back in November:

Cornyn has repeatedly betrayed his voters. No telling what he's done that we don't even know about. I sent Trump an email and told him that his numerous endorsements of RINOs has rendered them meaningless for me. However, I forgave him. This I will not forgive.
"The incumbent’s better-than-expected finish"?? Are they kidding? Cornyn spent $100 million to end up in a run-off with his opponent 1.2 % points behind him, and they call that "better"? An entrenched, powerful, connected incumbent? Especially when you consider Paxton spent less than $5 million! I will be voting for Paxton and because Trump is doing this, I'll also be sending Paxton the most generous donation I can afford. I encourage others to do the same. If 100 people send Paxton $5 each, that comes to $500. And there are 100s of 1000s of us! Even if you don't vote, you can still donate. I have read where many Democrats ran on very small donations and won their race. It's also a feather in the winner's cap because it proves that the people are behind him or her. If we did that, and Paxton won, it would undermine Trump's RINO advisers and hopefully get them fired.
What has the Republican Party told us for decades? "Run moderates who won't offend the Left, and therefore are much more electable." Many of them lost because they refused to stand for anything. Now Trump has joined them. We need to do all we can to elect Paxton. BTW, Paxton has announced that he will not drop out no matter what Trump does.
Let my man appreciate the beauty of Texas. Not everything has to be politics. Have you seen the map for Ag Commissioner? Sheets took the big cities and some medium cities while Miller kept most rural counties plus San Antonio. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2026/us/elections/results-texas-agriculture-commissioner-primary.html
