Republican Sid Miller Hosts Event With Former Democratic Opponent
Outgoing Agricultural Commissioner Sid Miller announced he is doing an anti-data center event with his former Democratic opponent, Clayton Tucker:
Miller lost his reelection bid to Nate Sheets earlier this year and has been pretty sour about it ever since, even signaling he will be voting for his former Democratic opponent:
Continued RPT Chair Drama Fallout
Yesterday on X we posted an article surrounding a claim some are making that current RPT Chairman Abraham George and his Vice-Chair Amanda Hopper filed too late to qualify for their chair/vice-chair races:
Many legal experts we spoke to say this is a non-issue and that George and Hopper are in the clear. So what are the bylaws, the points of order, the Robert’s Rules invocations for? Many people are saying they serve one purpose, and one purpose only: to make getting involved with the Party so insufferable that no one bothers.
Nevertheless, Chair/Vice-Chair candidate Brooks McKenzie is raising hell about the issue, including getting into an email-fight with SREC member Jim Pikl:
Current Revolt reached out to Pikl for comment and he provided the following:
I am not Abraham George’s lawyer or counsel in any capacity. He and I are friends, and I support his run for re-election as party chairman because, in my opinion, he is by far the most qualified candidate for that position.

Oil & Gas Workers Association President Has Warrant Out for His Arrest
Matt Coday, President of Oil & Gas Workers Association has a warrant out for his arrest for refusing to answer in court ordered discovery related to a defamation lawsuit he’s currently facing:
According to a document Current Revolt received, Coday straight up told the judge he was too busy to comply with anything:
Ace-reporter Matt Stringer of The Texan has been covering the lawsuits involving Coday for quite a while. Including a failed lawsuit that Coday brought against a grassroots activist:
“Defendants Oil and Gas Workers Association Inc. and Matthew Coday failed to comply in good faith with Plaintiff’s discovery requests. Accordingly, Plaintiff respectfully requests that Defendants be ordered and compelled to provide responses to said discovery requests,” Dunn’s motion says.
The discovery request seeks extensive information regarding the inner workings at OGWA, including board meetings, financial records, and communications.
With two of Coday’s lawsuits now thrown out under the Texas Citizen Participation Act, he faces mounting attorney fees and court costs, and has begun using OGWA’s nonprofit platform to solicit donations toward his expanding legal tab.
He’s just too busy!
