Mystery PAC With Out-of-State Funding Pushes Local Slate
Campaign filings reveal Ohio-linked PAC behind local voter guide.
A mysterious new PAC, backed by a three-time failed Plano City Council candidate, has raised concerns after citizens discovered it was funded by an out-of-state PAC.
Collin County Conservatives, a PAC that seemingly popped up out of nowhere, began suddenly pushing a slate card highlighting specific HD races and precinct chair spots:
Colleen Epstein is listed as the PAC’s treasurer. Many in Collin County recognize Epstein because she has run for Plano City Council three times and has lost every time, despite being endorsed by pretty much everyone in the county:
The PAC’s voter guide features a long list of endorsements, including highlighting very specific precinct chair races.
The voter guide was handed out by Rep. Keresa Richardson and her team at a polling location recently:
Which makes sense considering Richardson’s District Director is married to one of the only two people funding the PAC publishing the voter guide:
The only other group funding Collin County Conservatives PAC is Lone Star Liberty PAC, an Ohio based Super PAC:
We reached out to Epstein for more details behind the mysterious PAC, she did not respond to calls or texts. It looks like she’s fully committed to running forever though:
