Opinion: David Cook was an Embarrassing Hoax

Now that the fake fight over House Speaker has been decided, it’s past time that somebody said it: the entire David Cook thing was a scam, a hoax, and a scam. Yes, it was a double scam hoax.

Let me be clear: I would have voted for David Cook if this were an election where I was casting a vote. The choice was clearly Cook. However, this was not a real election, because real elections do not have public votes.

There is an ongoing, adjacent hoax to criminalize people talking about the Speaker’s race by weaponizing the Texas Ethics Commission, but this is beyond the scope of this piece.

We had far better Speaker candidates, like Tom Oliverson, but for some reason Cook was pushed on us.

This piece is about how the grassroots conservatives of Texas were told to put their necks on the line to fight for this guy:

David Cook is a masking feminist who once honored George Floyd by posting a mural and quoting Jesus, implying George Floyd was an angel who did nothing wrong.

Many people pointed out how the Paxton impeachment was something that David Cook voted for. Of course he did. It seems he is a man who goes along with every current thing.

He told the public the dangerous Covid shots would get us our freedom back one year after he participated in wrecking the country in 2020 with masking (including children) and shutting down the businesses of those he deemed non-essential.

He checks every box for cringe and awful. He advocated the broadband internet scam, which is 50x more expensive than Starlink.

His record is that of supporting every terrible trend.

Is inflation bothering you? Don’t worry, because next time there is a government bonanza cash giveaway, Cook will support it as GREAT NEWS.

“Great news” for all the businesses that closed permanently? I guess if you are a politician?

It’s just so embarrassing for so many Republicans to be shilling for this guy as the right-wing hero.

During his covid lockdowns, he said dry-cleaners are “essential” businesses while churches were closed. Dry-cleaners were on the same essential list as liquor stores and strip clubs.

To his credit, he was “happy” when the government said people were allowed to attend church. Better than a Democrat, I suppose.

Once again, this is a blackmail post saying the only way to get our freedom back in 2021 was to take a mysterious injection.

The elevation of this individual as the alternative choice to Dustin Burrows has raised many questions about the people who were pushing him. I assert that the above posts and the lack of any true awareness is exactly why certain people wanted him as Speaker.

According to Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, David Cook was ranked lower than Justin Holland and Kronda Thimesch:

According to Texas Values Action, Cook scored a 71% while Burrows scored a 98%.

I wouldn’t lift a finger to support David Cook and I’m glad he lost.
