Can you add a third option, “George is ghey?”

This captures the real tension in party governance beautifully. What's interesting is that George's reaction highlights how donor relationships trump internal policy debates when finances are at stake. The fact that he wouldn't even let Story expalin the resolution suggests the optics of touching donor funds matter more than the actual mechanics of budget allocation. It's a reminder that perceptions of fiscal stewardship can override even well-intentioned propsals within party structures.

The resolution did not relocate the governor's gift in any way. It is there in black-and-white. It stated, "resolved that the SREC directs that 25%...of the INCREASED NET CONVENTION REVENUE generated as a result of the Governor's gift..."

The resolution only allocated a percentage of net profit from increased registrations at the convention, IF such net profit occurred. The resolution in no way changes anything about the governors gift for the convention. His gift would be allocated EXACTLY as it was laid out by him.

Two million primary voters agreed to close the primary. President Trump, the Attorney General of Texas, and the Republican Party Of Texas Chairman have all advocated for closed primaries. The Attorney General of Texas already concurred with us in the legal fight. The only reason this issue persists in court is because the Secretary of State is presently fighting the Republican Party of Texas. My resolution explicitly said that if the legal battle ends by the Secretary of State dropping this fight then no dollars would be allocated from increased net revenue of the convention.

The people that attend the convention are not the ones that the republican party needs to get to the polls--They are the one that the party says--" Vote for ??? because if you don't then a democrat will win" Same words since at least the 1960's. We can all see that the party continues to support RINOS with the party machinery--funding--endorsements--and of course the republicans that still promote that "the party knows the candidates best, so just vote for who they say"--NONE of this is truth!! AS long as the state party continues to allow, even encourage county chairs to make deals with the democrats as to which candidate the county chair wants to win in the primary election and in turn allow the less informed non informed voter that still thinks that the elections are as fair as possible. WE have hundreds maybe thousands of registered voters that have 3-4-5 more Voter ID Numbers--we know this and have yet demanded that every county chair clean up just their county---I have worked in the register's office after elections and still find the same ON PURPOSE unlawful registrations--ONE NAME SAME ADDRESS with multiple ID numbers and the answer is always Well but she will only vote one time she's honest we know her--and of course she always votes at the polling place where "her people" the ones that know her, allow this practice--Until the GOP decides to take voting serious----clean up the roles-bring a friend to vote-come to party headquarters after you voted and join the celebration of cake and blue bell or JJ's BBQ something that shows we care about your vote--that is where to spend your money and time to SHOW that we are glad you voted we are glad you want to join us---What you hear every time you speak to republicans---MY VOTE doesn't matter!--this is a direct result of the party's action of never holding electeds accountable--selling the R after their names even tho the documents show that they support democrats with money and with appearance until they want to run for office and have to have that R after their name--even the party doesn't want to stop RINOS from going to Austin---#1 reason I give no money to the party I find a candidate I can support and do everything I can to help--my time and my treasure as I encourage ALL voters to do--The last time I went to convention I wanted to actually hear who was running so I stood up close to stage, I had a man standing by that keep yelling and booing and I kept moving as did he--I finally ask him to be quiet and he chose to spit in my face--a Sargent at Arms witnessed---HIS response--Oh honey! just go to the bathroom and wash your face you're ok---The party is all about the elites of the party not one thing about getting new voters active...already we are losing the rural areas that we depend on a counter to the big blue cities
