Panel Reveals Democrats and Republicans in Agreement on Open Texas Border

Imagine my shock.

A panel discussion hosted by The Texan revealed what many have long suspected—Democrat and Republican lawmakers in Austin are in complete agreement on the open border.

Themes throughout the panel included repeated emphasis that lawmakers on both sides were in complete agreement on everything, pointing out that while there are negative effects associated with an open southern border, we just have to deal with them because some migrants have sad stories.

Along with suggesting that Texas start extorting migrants for money like the cartels, the panel also claimed that God will be displeased if we change our immigration policies, because God agrees with these lawmaker’s political views on the immigration and their ideal bureaucratic vision.

The panel included Democrat Terry Canales [HD-40], Republican Pete Flores [SD-19], and Democrat Eddie Morales [HD-74].

The first question was a loaded question– asking about the men’s basic philosophy on the issue of immigration. It was supposed to be open ended question, but then it was framed as an either/or “safety vs. compassion” thing.

The panelists immediately united against the moderator, emphasizing their bipartisan agreements and insisting it is “the process” which is broken instead of saying “yeah we have poor people flooding in to get on welfare, hog social services, and do anchor babies because the elites are pushing this.”

“In the realm of… policy, it’s not black and white. I think there are shades of gray. We have to prioritize safety, and we also need to be compassionate when we do it at the same time.”

Actually, we the people prefer it black and white, as a matter of fact. This will bring order to the chaos.

You can look at that quote from Terry Canales a bit closer and see this is someone who is totally indifferent (or worse) to the border invasion. He only dislikes it inasmuch as people hassle him about it.

Canales later emphasizes that the only real problem with our open border is the fentanyl pouring in. This is a point he has made before, saying that we shouldn’t even look at the fence jumpers, river crossers and sneaky sneakers, but should instead focus on “ports of entry.”

Next, Republican Pete Flores speaks. He prefaces his comments with a story about how his wife and grandfather “did it the right way” in becoming a naturalized citizen. He then says the following:

“Our first responsibility is to take care of our nation, to take care of our communities—the place that we live and call home, but we can’t forget those little girls and little children left on the banks of the Rio Grande, and are we going to treat them like animals? Or are we going to be judged by God to be the country that we are, based on how we treat the most defenseless people?” - Pete Flores [R]

He then says our nation “stands for” open border policies, and that these policies are “our values.” These values are ostensibly created out of thin air by his appeals to emotion.

Flores then sort of blabbers about “civilization” and throws out a bunch of terms before appealing to God’s authority to bolster his policy stance. He suggests God supports the government creating incentives for human trafficking, because changing things would be mean and inconvenient to those benefiting from the smuggling operations.

Flores later suggests we should pay for securing Mexico’s southern border.

Yes, I’m serious.

This is a different message than the messaging he used to get elected. To get elected, Flores would show images implying he was ready to maul illegal border crossers to death with attack dogs dispatched by military special operations.

Basically, they all accused the host of a loaded question and then proceeded to give the most loaded answers imaginable, complete with straw-men and other logical fallacies.

Both Democrats and the Republican on the panel agree with the Texas policy of wasting money on phony border security. To me, this sort of bipartisan consent is just more evidence the money is simply being stolen. Representative Morales says he “fully supports” billions in fake border security, saying without evidence that the money has helped.

Morales then puts forth his grand answer for “securing the border.” He says that the Texas government should take over for the Mexican drug cartels as the payment processor for human smuggling, and that people should come to the United States via the Texas border for $2,000 a head.

Morales says his $2,000 smuggling tax will generate $3.2 million a day in state revenue in the Eagle Pass sector alone, referring to this money as “profit” Texas is missing.

He later says we have a moral duty to assist with the smuggling of children by making the process easier and not questioning it.

The idea that we can have infinite compassion for every person in the world with a sad story is insane. Considering these politicians not only want our sympathy but also want us to forfeit our birthright of a sovereign nation, the proposition of taking in every man woman and child on earth going through a hard time should be viewed as a manipulation tactic put forth by malicious actors.

We never voted for taking care of everyone on earth who memorizes a script about how they are scared of violence in their hometown. People voted for straightforward action where the rules are enforced. Even children live best under a system of rules.

The rest of the discussion is just as dumb. These are hoaxsters who will say anything, all while doing literally nothing.

We have our own problems here, and they are actually very large and serious problems.

I’ve had enough of the emotional manipulation. It’s time to say NO.
