Texas Medical Association and the physicians in the Texas legislature would rather subject Texans to Third World country medical graduates, and US graduates that graduated at the bottom of their class and were not offered a residency, rather than allow nurse practitioners to practice at the top of their license, as 38 other states already do. This is why Texas remains #51 in access to healthcare, and at the bottom of many other health parameters. And our health insurance premiums are the highest in the nation.

Gotta be honest fellows. Having attended a recent medical school graduation and listened to the way the staff and the graduates presented themselves.... well.... it's depressing. I know one graduating class is hardly representative, and our physicians are not supposed to necessarily be renaissance men and women... but this was ridiculous. The practice of medicine is going to be losing even more prestige in the future, I predict.
