Rep. Ashby’s latest TV ad features several law enforcement officers in full uniform, seemingly endorsing Rep. Trent Ashby.
Texas Government Code states the following:
Regarding the law, there is nuance related to uniform ownership that may allow officers to wear their full uniform and badge if the uniform is personally owned by the officer. Though appearing in full uniform in a political ad could still raise questions.
