Guess what republicans? You already have “School Choice”.
Get involved and take back control of your community schools and mold them into what you want them to be.
Don’t say it can’t be done because Keller ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, Carrol ISD have all done it in the last 3 years.
I fear that the truth is republicans don’t want to do the work. Life is busy. I get it.
So the appeal is to retreat into a “private” school where you don’t have to be actively engaged and you can relax, but there’s no retreating from this fight.
And then there are all the "conservative" PACs who are at the government trough asking for money. Alternately, Texas Home Educators is building a homeschool community across Texas with libraries for parents to check out whole books and curriculum, creating educationally enhanced events for parents and kids to enjoy and learn, and working to bring the homeschool community together.
I am a fan of homeschooling, but I have noticed that there is a lack of community engagement from homeschool families too.
They feel since there kids don’t go to the schools they shouldn’t join the fights, but they absolutely should. Their kids peers will still be in these public schools so we still need them pumping out solid kids.

They’ll come for your private school next.
They will come after those private schools faster with 'school choice'.
How about the taxes we pay for public schools? If we send our kids to private schools, are our taxes sent to them too?
