Shoddy Reporting Leads to Unfair Attack on Republican Nominee
Reporting used fake/altered images and left out additional context.
It was a fun bit for a while to be able to fact-check and dump on sloppy internet journalists, but the increase in sloppy journalism by internet journalists has been ramping up lately, so it’s become more of a chore and annoyance. Such is the case with X wannabe journalist Sarah Fields.
Another one of Fields’ “stories” (X posts) has been making waves in North Texas, specifically targeting the Republican nominee for Collin County commissioner, Shelby Williams.
Fields’ X post goes on to highlight one of Williams’ 100+ individual donors, Matt Rostami.
Rostami, a former Democrat turned Republican, recently donated to Shelby Williams, the Republican nominee for Collin County Commissioner.
Rostami donated a total of $1,148.85 to Williams’ campaign. Approximately 1% of Williams’ total donations.
Sarah Fields deemed this comparatively small donation by Rostami to Shelby Williams’ campaign as a judgement against Williams:
“That(Rostami donation) raises serious questions about judgment, vetting, and the type of people Shelby Williams is comfortable aligning herself with politically.”

Typical of Fields’ reporting is leaving out larger donations to other Texas politicians by Rostami, including:

Don Huffines
David Lowe
Ken Paxton
Fields left out larger donations to larger political figures in Texas and instead, for some reason, decided to focus on Collin County Commissioner Shelby Williams. Why?
The photo Fields used in her article of Rostami also includes a digitally altered image of Rostami, seemingly to move Rostami’s hand in order to better display the Shelby Williams shirt he’s wearing. The image Fields used also changed Rostami’s entire face for some reason.

Why would Fields use an altered photo of Rostami instead of the real one?
Sloppy, journalism isn’t new for Sarah Fields. Fields previously wrote X posts, completely misidentifying individuals.
In a discussion with Fields, she admitted to posting fake news and promised to do better.

Rostami has made blunders in the name of what he considers satire. He’s also a former Democrat turned Republican, which seems like a goal that Republicans hope to achieve: converting Democrats to Republicans. Should Rostami have his Democratic-voting past held against him now that he’s donating to Republicans?

And, the “reporter” refers to Shelby Williams as “her”. Mr. Williams is definitely a man. She clearly knows nothing about his track record and background.
So glad you were able to 'fill in the blanks' to her story. What she gets right that you don't is that the Republican Party has a RINO problem and it stems from accepting every Dem walk away without questions or reservations and little to no vetting. Ergo we get RINO pos that we get to loathe eventually because unfortunately, these 'walk aways' don't leave their leftist ideology by the wayside. They inherently know what garbage their own Party is and was and know they will NEVER get elected in a red conservative Texas as RATS. Most , if not all of them, could be assumed to be self preservationists first, ideology driven leftards to varying degrees infiltrating our Party to continue their massacre of our conservative base which the Conservative base falls for hook, line and sinker. Sinker being the operative word. Add the fact that he claims to be a Republican Muslime should also raise red flags. Bigly because the Islamification of Texas is most certainly 'a thing'. It should be suspect at the very least. Dr. Shahid Shafi who came back from Pakistan recently and was on the Southlake City Council and later placed as Vice Chair by Darl Easton Chairman of the Tarrant County Republican Party comes to mind. If ever there was an infiltrator he was it and he's back shmoozing it up at Republican functions with the likes of Mona Bailey and the District 98 Rep wannabe Leigh Wamsgaaaans among other alleged Republicans. The fact that Rostami is spreading his wealth around to other prominent Repubs should be of concern as we already have a muslime sell out Governor for Texas. If you missed these points of concern than how is your reporting any better than your nemesis Sarah Fields? Enquiring minds wanna know.
