Texas County Fair Cancels "Family Friendly" Drag Show
Riverside Pride has vowed to make sure the event will continue elsewhere.
The Comal County Fair Executive Board has decided to cancel the “family friendly” Riverside Pride Festival, just 4 days before the event, citing age appropriate concerns for those involved.
First brought to the attention of many by New Braunfels resident Joeylynn Mesaros, Riverside Pride planned to host their 2025 pride event on Comal County Fairgrounds on October 11. They specifically advertised shows for children featuring grown men dressed as women.
The 2025 Pride Festival will return to the Comal County Fairgrounds on October 11. The festival kicks off with opening ceremonies at 10:15 a.m. and will feature live music, a DJ, belly dancers, more than 50 vendors, kids’ activities and a drag show, plus a headline performance by Flamy Grant, a drag queen who blends gospel and country music.
The headline performer featured Flamy Grant, a bald man who wears women’s dresses and sings to children about the gospel.
