Texas GOP Website Hacked, Lists Strippers under “Resources”

The website was previously hacked by Anonymous back in 2021.

The Republican Party of Texas (RPT) website currently has links to websites offering services including gambling, reverse mortgages, vapes, professional services in the country of Vietnam, and Russian strippers. This would seem to be the result of a hack.

As shown in the video above, the link is under the “ELECTIONS” tab and then accessed by clicking the “RESOURCES FOR CAMPAIGNS” link.

The link then takes you to a website at www.campaigntools.shop which hosts a series of website URLs.

One of those links takes you to a Russian escort service, which has been translated for your entertainment.

For some reason, they have a stripper whose name translates to “Disgusting.” Do we even want to know?

There are several funny and weird gambling websites:

Wow the RPT promoting gambling? Huge if true.

Ironically, one of the links goes to the site of a cyber security professional. It says this at the top.

This apparent hack is especially concerning since we’ve been able to confirm the website has been compromised since at least August of this year.

This link tree could be entirely external to the RPT systems, but it could be leftover from the September 2021 incident when the hacker group known as Anonymous took over the RPT website.

Texas Public Radio:

The activist hacking group Anonymous took over the website of the Texas Republican Party Saturday.

For several hours the website carried an Anonymous banner across the top of the page, a Rick Astley music video, a lewd photo, and a statement saying the party is committed to taking away women's rights.

Early in the fall, the RPT removed all of the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) member’s emails available on the website, allegedly due to a phishing attempt and someone harvesting the emails from the website.

This seems unlikely now. If the RPT did some sort of cyber security audit, why didn’t they pick up this hacked link right on the homepage of the RPT website?

Could the SREC email removals actually be due to media asking too many questions?

SREC emails removed from the RPT website on October 19th

Technology experts we spoke to say that any data hosted on the RPT servers may be compromised. This could include RPT staff or SREC members.

Hopefully the RPT has the money to hire someone for a full technology audit. It might be worth it to hire the cyber security guy listed above the strippers.
