In the latest edition of “the most conservative session ever,” January 29th was a semi-eventful day in the Texas Capitol. First, let’s go over a couple good things that happened.
Chiefs Day, which celebrated Texas law enforcement.
Rep. Brent Money (R-Greenville) filed his abortion abolition bill (HB 2197), which destroys ALL loopholes in Texas’s abortion ban. Purple haired harlots are already seething.
Otherwise, it was pretty boring, and all anyone did was pass resolutions and pat each other on the back. In fact, the Texas House was pre-set to adjourn till 4pm… next Tuesday. The same institution that appointed an Obama lawyer to write rules, and even include a mask mandate in said rules, decided to give themselves a six day weekend.
Unsurprisingly, not everyone was happy about this. Sparks flew between Rep. Brian Harrison and Speaker Dustin Burrows. In the below video, Harrison hounds Burrows on the ridiculousness of this plan, as there’s plenty of work to do. Instead of giving Harrison answers, Burrows said “that’s not proper parliamentary inquiry” ad nauseam.
So, this is the “proper process” certain people want to preserve? Instead of making life better for Texans, they want an early vacation? There’s a reason it’s called the “do nothing” caucus.
Anyhow, when questioned by voters why things that people actually want and need aren’t passed, House members will claim they “ran out of time.” Such claims are handily debunked by their tendency to vote themselves extra weekend time, despite their blatherings about “working hard” for the base.
I guess this is the unofficial anthem of the Texas House; they don’t want to work, but want to bang a gavel all day.
The issue continues to be you me and the rest of the citizens who bother to vote. We are lazy we don't learn we allow our spouse to beat the hell out of us and then we send him right back to office to do it again-We must believe that we are married for ALL time and eternity just like Mormons because we can't seem to kick these liars and thieves and cheats to the curb and slam the door. WE all deserve better WE are TEXANS. We need to become a BAT--Be Like Trump--He has taken on the devil in disguise to fight for this Nation has been shot at least one time and still didn't quit--What are we if we don't become a BAT too??
