There is nothing in this post I didn't see in 1982 while a lead engineer supervising engineers from all over the world because kids in the US were going after degrees in finance. We are reaping what we have sown. They are at the bottom of my list along with Pakistanis and they're their cousins. My best, think outside the box engineers: Taiwanese, Armenian, Iranian and I had some pretty good Filipino engineers.

I get herded from my own sidewalk into the street because my neighbors still do not understand that we walk on the right side here. Driving is dangerously and annoying. A few will smile and wave, but for the most part- there’s no sign of friendliness. They don’t tip and anyone whose kids work in restaurants at legacy west will tell you this. Not adapting but lots of expecting. I get the shivers when I see cars parked (like crap) all up and down the street for a gathering, and women emerge all in black, only eyes showing, in the dead of summer. Where am I? What happened to my beautiful neighborhood where lawn care is a unicorn past. UGH.

It’s stunning to me that Islam and Hinduism aren’t viewed in the same light. They are both real threats to Texas and American culture! I consider Hinduism more insidious because it combines stealth while operating in plain sight, as your article documents. Republican politicians (evidently) don’t care a wit and welcome this Trojan horse.

I understand why Jean Raspail made Indians the main invaders in “Camp of the Saints.”

I lived for over a decade in Afghanistan and Pakistan, back in the 80s-90s then again in the 2010s ... I never lived in India, but visited and traveled there extensively. My reactions, in no particular order:

I enjoyed that part of the world a great deal. The people everywhere, even in war zones, were welcoming and hospitable. Merchants generally were very honest. Notwithstanding the occasional hardships and dangers, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Being willing to go back, though, does NOT mean I want to bring that part of the world to Texas, even in a small way.

'Importing India' to Frisco is bad enough. Let's make damn sure we don't let Gov Grabbitt import Pakistan too. There are specific issues with respect to Pakistan, at the intersection of political culture and religious norms, that would make that a bad idea. It's a big part of the reason why India and Pakistan are always on the brink of war.

As the redditor who lived in Dubai suggests, Frisco is not getting the 'best' Indians. Same thing happened in Europe when they threw open their borders ten years ago. By 2018, 50% of rapes in Austria were being committed by just one nationality: Afghans. What's ironic is, rape is actually quite rare in Afghanistan, because if you even try - if you even look at a woman the wrong way - the men of the family will kill you, with a song on their lips, joy in their hearts and complete impunity. Local authorities will just shrug it off.

Here's what we're seeing: Open borders in the West (H1B is just window-dressing for open borders) attract the very worst elements from the East. The folks back home are glad to get shed of them.

I wasn't aware, but I'm not shocked to learn that Indians look down on blacks and Hispanics. Keep in mind that a caste is not merely a social stratum, but is also associated with a hereditary trade or profession. The Patel caste is mercantile, which explains not merely the 'Patel motel cartel,' but also the prevalence of the Patel caste in the US medical profession: more proof, if any were needed, that US medicine is about making money, not healing the sick

Very few Indians will ever take citizenship out in America......My old neighbors are Indian and both grads of ivy league schools with a masters and the other PHD in engineering--neither can speak clear English after being in this country for over 40years--the thing I see that they how to show how wealthy they are but not so much when it comes to paying their share-- I find in their community is that is fairly common that they will get an expensive stores' box then buy a cheap knockoff to put in that box and give it as a gift---rarely do that inside their community because status if very important but with their "other friends" it is routine--as a side note slavery is still practiced within that community--They do not embrace American culture just like other middle eastern peoples don't-----
