Tony Gonzales Falsely Calls his Opponent "Neo-Nazi"
Gonzales made the statement on CNN.
The widely watched race for TX23 between incumbent Republican Tony Gonzales and Brandon Herrera made news again this weekend when Gonzales called his opponent a “neo-nazi” and those who endorsed him “real scumbags.”
The “neo-Nazi” reference apparently comes from a video in 2022 where Herrera reviews the MP-40, a gun developed by Nazi Germany for use during World War II. The video also features the German march song “Erika.”
Labeling someone a Nazi for simply reviewing a gun used by Nazis is like calling Trump a Mexican for enjoying a delicious taco bowl often enjoyed by Mexicans.
Regarding the German marching song Erika, we spoke with well-known east German patriot Kaiser from X, who informed us that the Erika song is still used to this day. Hardly a song to label someone a Nazi over.
Gonzales is facing a very tough runoff election after failing to secure the nomination by 5 points. Herrera has also secured several high-profile nominations from figures like Matt Gaetz, Sid Miller, Bob Good, and others.
