TX House Rep Files "Rinaldi's Law" Protecting Personal Ballot Selections.
Anyone obtaining info connecting voters to ballot selections would be charged with a felony.
After Current Revolt published former Texas GOP Chairman Matt Rinaldi’s ballot showing he voted for Ron Desantis, Texas House Rep (HD31) Ryan Guillen has filed HB242, also known as “Rinaldi’s Law," amending the Election Code to charge those who obtain private ballot information connecting ballot selections with a felony.
In May of last year, Former GOP Chairman Matt Rinaldi and FEC Commissioner Trey Trainer, traded words on X where Trainor claimed that Rinaldi did not vote for President Donald Trump in the primary election. Rinaldi responded that he did and told Trainor to “get some counseling.”
We later obtained a full copy of Rinaldi’s ballot from Super Tuesday (March) that indicated he indeed voted for Ron Desantis despite the fact that Desantis had officially dropped his campaign in January.
The passage of “Rinaldi’s Law” would mean that anyone violating this law would face a third degree felony.
The problem is, how did they get the ballot? Until county wide voting is dropped and we go back to precinct voting some ballots will not be secret.
I have a better idea. How about everybody just be honest with who they support and why. Quit saying one thing and doing another... I'm pretty sure this called a hypocrite.
