“Democrat chairs” is an epithet describing when Republicans in the Texas House give Democrats control over various verticals within the legislative process.
For example, the Public Education, Higher Education, and Homeland Security Committees have all enjoyed the enrichment that comes from the backing of the Democrat Party.
The controversy arose when Republican voters figured out that Democrats had effectively put in charge of:
public schools
college campuses
securing the border
These are just three examples within the last 3 legislative sessions.
Until recently, most Republican voters had no idea their Republican State Rep was voting “for” or “against” Democrat chairs at the beginning of the year.
But voters in one House district did find out.
They found out real good.
90 Tarrant GOP figures/activists write to Rep. Giovanni asking him to oppose a speaker candidate that will appoint Dem chairs & commit to voting for the Texas House Republican Caucus endorsed candidate.
Dade Phelan, basically.
Does Capriglione look sinister in this photo?
Italian mob glaring has no place in Texas politics.
The letter has been signed by the mayors of Southlake, Colleyville, and Keller, along with many city council members from these three cities. Additionally, members of the Carroll ISD, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, and Keller ISD have added their signatures. A group of Republican precinct chairs within the district have also signed the letter.
NBC Universal has an entire team of “journalists” that spend their days digging into the private lives of Republicans in these towns. Grapevine and Southlake have been turned into a podcast by NBC where they dox various private citizens on behalf of the government.
Hard to dox 90 people at once, I suppose.
The letter was released by Southlake Families, a PAC that locals formed headed by Leigh Wambsganss.
There’s like a million pages of the letter with all the names. I’ll just post the first page here. The full list of names can be seen here.
This is a lot of pressure. Hopefully it works.
Tough decisions are exactly that. If you want to be a conservative leader in America this is what it looks like:
Carroll ISD had 6 of 7 school board members on that letter, telling their State Rep to stop the scams. They mean business. That is also why they are being persecuted by the federal government.
Not sure if it is viable to be a State Rep and be opposed to your entire base of voters.
It sure wasn’t for this guy.
I guess we’ll see.
Funny how some of these alleged 'conservative' groups are just now coming to the realization of the deception that has been ongoing for decades. They only seem to care when their personal space is trampled on.I guess better late than never, huh?
