Will Texas Water Investments Be Woke?

Texas is fixin’ to bust out the wallet and start cutting checks for what Governor Greg Abbott said would be a “generational” investment in water infrastructure. However, after a recent House committee meeting led to the Texas Water Development Board Chairwoman crying her eyes out when questioned about the level of wokeness in the agency’s affirmative action hiring, many people are saying they don’t want the Texas water supply to be woke.
Current Revolt received a tip about one large Texas water utility that has created a special procurement system they say is meant to create a “competitive advantage” in project awards to anyone who is not a white male, and any white male Texan attempting to access this competitive advantage offered to all other Americans faces felony charges—up to life in prison!
The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) provides drinking water and water reclamation services to almost 2 million Texans. As a foundational institution for public health with an annual budget of over $1 billion, you’d hope they would at least pretend to comply with Governor Abbott’s latest executive order to “prohibit all forms of government race discrimination.”
Last week, we published a story about how Texas A&M has race-based quotas for contract awards and that the race-based competitive advantage program, HUB, is administered by the Comptroller, Glenn Hagar. Hegar is also slated to be the next President of Texas A&M.
That story is—as they say—la punta del iceberg.
The San Antonio Water System spends hundreds of millions of dollars every year on contracted goods and services. On SAWS’ Procurement page, they have a special section called “Anticipated Solicitations.”
Anticipated Solicitations are opportunities for local small, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses to learn about City of San Antonio projects before they are released through the City's webpage or portals. (60-90 days in advance).
You might think, “that’s weird.” And you’d be right, but it gets worse. The purpose of this special program is disclosed within the next link.
This list is an effort to offer S/M/WBEs a competitive advantage to prepare for the bidding and contracting process before projects formally open to receive bids.
This is what most reasonable people would consider “cheating” or “rigging.”
Once again, Abbott’s words seem to ring hollow as he cracks down on DEI in the underwater basketweaving programs at Texas universities while billion-dollar institutions crucial to public health have DEI quotas and, in SAWS case, some kind of “point system.”
According to the nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy research and advocacy organization, Texas 2036, the State needs to invest at least $154 billion in the coming decades toward expanding the water supply and fixing the crumbling water systems. The group claims current funding structures can only cover 25% of those costs.
San Antonio is estimated to lose nearly 20 billion gallons of water every year from cracked pipes, but with policies revealed as having a stated goal to enrich business owners based solely on race, many people are saying they are more worried about public sector leadership smoking crack pipes!
In 2021, a 222-page study on the health of their discriminatory practices was commissioned by SAWS. They stated their commitment that their discrimination must be “narrowly-tailored,” which seems to have been achieved in that only white men are tagged to be put at a disadvantage.
Apparently, neither SAWS nor the Comptroller’s office care if it hurts the Governor, they’re just gonna keep on discriminatin’ forever.
But wait, what about the jews?? Surely they deserve special treatment, being "historically underutilized" or whatever. I didn't realize the Texas government was so vile. This is patently illegal under the so-called "Civil Rights Act" which obviously only to applies to everybody but Whites. Just like the so-called "hate crimes." All of these laws are also patently unconstitutional. What are the penalties for violating the constitutional rights of White men? No wonder everything only ever gets worse in America. This is part of the reason. The systematic blotting out of the White male of European descent from state-sponsored affairs. This state and this country is doomed as long as we have philosemitic anti-Whites in power.
