Gene Wu wants to lock up black people.

After the brutal murder of a 9-year-old girl by a violent criminal (released under Houston’s new bail reform), Democratic Texas State Representative Gene Wu went on a tweet storm encouraging Texas judges to keep black Texans locked up with little to no access to bail.

This is, again, a call to END the CASH BOND SYSTEM that keeps allowing crooked bondsmen to keep getting out people who can afford to PAY to get out. Public safety shouldn't be based on who can afford to pay... it would ONLY be based on who is an actual danger to the public.

Doesn’t he know it’s Juneteenth???

We here at Current Revolt are appalled by Rep. Wu’s blatant racism. It’s evident that he only hates black Texans because of the color of their skin. This kind of rhetoric and messaging by Wu has no place in Texas where we welcome diversity, in all shapes, colors, forms, and genitals.

If Rep. Wu wants fewer murders in his daily life, maybe he should move to racist Japan where there is almost no diversity and way less murder.
