Campaign endorsements exist to help normies more easily identify who are the good guys and who are the enemies. However, politically aware individuals know endorsements don’t mean anything substantial, and are often given for petty reasons.
Political endorsements, especially here in Texas, are generally purchased, negotiated, or given in exchange for political loyalty. Some, I assume, are genuine.
But many people are questioning Lt. Gov Dan Patrick’s endorsements lately, as they have been, quite frankly, shit.
First it was the endorsement for Brent Hagenbuch, who everyone knows didn’t live in SD30 when he filed for run.
We do hear Hagenbuch finally bought an apartment and moved out of his office.
Many overlooked Patrick’s endorsement of Hagenbuch, especially considering there were a lot of primary races to be concerned about.
But now that the primary is over, we have a few major races that have gone to a runoff.
One of those races is for Congressional District 23, currently held by Tony Gonzales.
Gonzales has been the center of much controversy, so much so that he was censured by the Republican Party.
The Republican Party of Texas officially censured Representative Tony Gonzales today, imposing the full set of penalties allowed by the rules, for lack of fidelity to Republican principles and priorities. Rule 44 of the Republican Party of Texas allows the party to censure elected officials who violate Texas Republican Party principles and priorities three times or more in a given biennium. The censure of Rep. Gonzales details five such instances on issues such as traditional marriage, second amendment protections, preserving freedom, and border security.
It seems that many voters in CD23 were also disappointed with Gonzales, so much so that he failed to reach 50% in the primary election and now faces a runoff against Brandon Herrera.
Herrera, a well-known Second Amendment activist and successful social media personality, attained more votes than any prior challenger to Gonzales.
Which clearly has the leftists in a panic as they have started going on the defense for Gonzales by writing hit pieces on Herrera.
The left also has this thing where they try to make Herrera look like a crazy person in all their pictures of him, but he just looks more like a badass.
So with this runoff heating up, it seems it was time for Gonzales to call in the big guns and ask Dan Patrick for his endorsement.
The endorsement was poorly received, with Patrick getting what the young people call “ratio’d” on his own post.
The replies to the endorsement are overwhelmingly negative.
So why is Lt Gov Dan Patrick endorsing Gonzales here? Nobody knows! It’s especially odd considering Patrick has positioned himself as a “grassroots” leader among the right. It makes about as much sense as his Hagenbuch endorsement.
If only Herrera had $3 million to donate...
You know who has endorsed Brandon Herrera?
I love DJT, but it doesn't matter to me if he endorses a candidate or not either. I can think for myself and pick out the RINO's a mile away!
Texans need to go back to actually voting with their brain---their own brain--politicians are always politicians first last and always!
