Gov. Abbott Does (Non-Endorsement) Endorsement in House Speaker race
"Let him Cook" as the kids say
After a recent controversy involving State Rep. Dustin Burrows, and the son of Gov. Abbott’s main consultant, our governor issued an apparent endorsement over X. In fallout resulting from a mass text implying Burrows was endorsed by Abbott, he made a timely yet nondescript response to the controversy.
With the vaguery present in this post, many attempted their own interpretations. Some interpreted this to mean “just those Republicans still in the room while Burrows fans walked out,” but considering the majority of State House Republicans overall backed Cook and never partook in Burrows’s tantrum walkout, this is unlikely.
Among those having the opposite interpretation was Lt. Gov Dan Patrick, who made his analysis loud and clear, endorsing Rep. David Cook.
With every power player already picking a side (and both GOP speaker candidates reaching Left), we’re expecting a firefight on January 14th, no matter who the pre-determined winner is. Even without voting machines deciding our next Texas House Speaker, we’re expecting an abundance of drama for a while to come.

No matter how “improper” your ad is, we’ll still deem it worthy. Besides, the “professionals” below can interpret Abbott’s post better than 60% of armchair pundits.
Abbott must go. Paxton should consider running for Governor. Just a thought.
I KNEW he would do this. So predictable. Finger to the wind.
