Huffman Endorsed By Open Borders Sheriff
The Texas "Larry Boy" intervened in the Texas AG race
While most people watching the Texas Attorney General race have focused on Rep. Chip Roy, Aaron Reitz, and State Sen. Mayes Middleton, another candidate made headlines for not-so-good reasons.
State Sen. Joan Huffman announced another endorsement for her attorney general bid. Via social media, she touted her backing from Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith, who Current Revolt exposed for aiding illegal aliens.
As implied earlier, Smith is pretty far to the Left on immigration, despite being a “Republican.” He was caught on camera bragging about letting illegal aliens out of custody to roam communities again.
Some quotes from Smith:
“I’m the one that set the bar what we are going to do here in Smith County, DWI or above. Everybody that gets stopped for a traffic ticket, anything less than a class B misdemeanor has nothing to worry about.”
- Sheriff Smith on whether illegal immigrants should be worried about breaking traffic laws.
“If they did arrest him (an illegal alien) for no drivers license, they are not going through the immigration process. I assure you it won’t happen!”
- Sheriff Smith
Sheriff Smith later apologized for holding the aforementioned forum, but gave no retractions for anything said.
Ironically, Huffman postured for most of her career as a border hawk. On her website, she does the usual Texas Republican thing and portrays herself as a warrior against the alien hordes and the old Brandon regime.
It seems apparent Huffman is targeting law enforcement for her endorsements, but why would Sheriff Smith endorse her given her public persona? Is Huffman compromising to win over votes? Many people are asking.

I got redistricted into her state Senate district, and immediately my Spidy Sense went on full alert. With a little digging, my instincts were affirmed. Even called her office and told her she has done nothing to earn my vote. Now, I'm glad I did.
