Judge Jails Man for Not Wearing Mask in Court

Unnecessarily jails 2 men for indefinite time.

On September 7, 2021, Russell Wells appeared for jury duty in the 278th District Court of Walker County Texas. However, instead of fulfilling his civic duty, he was publicly humiliated and jailed by Judge Hal Ridley.

As the Coronavirus plandemic began to subside and courts resumed jury trials, Russell Wells was summoned for jury duty. Along with his summons came a letter from the local Administrative District Judge. The letter did not provide an exemption for those who object to wearing face diapers.

According to an affidavit signed by Russell Wells, he appeared for Jury Duty, declined a mask when offered, and sat down with 65 other people in the Jury Pool.

Jude Hal Ridley would later appear, babble about jurors being exposed to COVID, instructing the entire jury panel to wear masks. Judge Ridley then asked if anyone would not abide by his mask mandate.

The 278th District Court

Wells and another man raised their hand confirming they would not wear a mask. It was at this point that Judge Ridley called both men to the front of the courtroom. The Judge would proceed to berate them in front of the other jurors and threatened them with jail.

Judge Ridley would then order the Bailiff to escort both men to a holding cell where their phones would be confiscated and they would be held for an indefinite amount of time.

Two and a half hours later the Bailiff would reappear and order Wells and the other man back in front of the judge where Wells claims the Judge berated them again and blamed them for not filling out a COVID information sheet where they could have “opted out” of jury duty. A sheet, Wells claims, he was never offered. After the Judge was done scolding the men, he would order the court clerk to give them their phones back, and told them to leave.

We’d like to remind you that the man who was so concerned about COVID masks looks like he’s a few calories away from a non-vax related cardiovascular case of sudden death.
