LGBT Alert CANCELED - Texas Capitol Marked Safe

Across Texas, right-wingers are taking a victory lap after the news broke that the latest House Resolution about gay sex has been withdrawn.

Is this a win? You bet.

Of course the bar is extraordinarily low for getting a win, but this is definitely a win.

After many prominent House Republicans threatened to vote “No” on a resolution package, due to one HR 85 congratulating LGBT activists on conquering America, the author of the resolution has withdrawn it from consideration!

VICTORY: HR 85 is being withdrawn by the author. Grassroots activists, along with the @TexasGOP helped highlight this issue and brought Republican legislators together around a common cause of defeating the Left-wing assault on our culture and values. #txlege

ALERT: Dade Phelan’s leadership team is placing another pro LGBTQ+ resolution in this week’s resolution packet (HR 85). I will be voting against the entire packet. We should not celebrate the Left. #txlege https://t.co/cwDCZ1N2im

All the top-G’s in the GOP threatened to go nuclear over the new LGBT+P thing in the form of an ultimatum— remove the gay sex or nobody was getting congratulated.

We should not vote on resolutions with highly controversial issues as a slate. Controversial issues should be voted on individually. If HR85 remains on the slate, I will vote no for the entire resolutions package. #txlege

Brian Harrison said it was “political” in nature.

Seems like it was “sexual” in nature, actually.

#Txlege House Resolution slates are typically comprised of non-controversial resolutions. However, #HR85, which is both controversial and political in nature, is included in a slate of resolutions to be voted on tomorrow. This sets a bad precedent. 1/x

BREAKING: The following letter opposing HR 85 was just sent to the entire @TXGOPCaucus and is signed by @TexasGOP Chairman @MattRinaldiTX, Vice Chair Dana Myers, National Committeeman Dr. Robin Armstrong, and 48 SREC members. #txlege https://t.co/BpNvTfkVpU

Once again Dade Phelan’s leadership team is trying to force Republicans to vote for the radical Left. A pro-LGBT resolution is at the top of this week’s packet. I will be voting no. I hope my @TXGOPCaucus colleagues will join me in voting this capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/88R/mi…… https://t.co/8Vf7bwY8OF

We oppose HR 85 by Rep. Plesa on the House Congratulatory calendar. A “no” vote on the whole calendar is appropriate even if the rest of the resolutions are non-political. We will not tolerate leftist efforts to politicize the House practice of honoring Texans. #txlege

Before it was revealed the resolution was being withdrawn, we mentioned an old skeleton in Dade Phelan’s closet. A skeleton comprised of just one bone, a bone inside the mouth - if you catch my drift.

He doesn’t seem to be neutral on this issue. It is time for Phelan to step down as Speaker so we can get more center-right representation instead of the current “corporatism and kink“ camapign-mailer conservatism.

Why couldn't one of the reps just tweet "this resolution is too gay"? Chad moment lost.
