Texas Nationalist Movement Seems to Ditch Lawyer and Staffer in Failed Lawsuit Against Rep Jeff Leach
Last year, Morgan McComb, (now former?) staffer for the Texas Nationalist Movement filed a lawsuit against Rep Jeff Leach alleging that he defamed her. She did such with the backing of The Texas Nationalist Movement.
The Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) is proud to provide legal support to the plaintiff in this battle for justice, reinforcing the principles of self-government, free speech, and the pursuit of self-determination for Texans.
The lawsuit ultimately failed, of course, and McComb ended up being on the hook for $124,158 in trial fees and $143,550 in appellate fees.
Additionally, her lawyer Paul Davis, was hit with a $50,000 sanction. This brings the total in fees and fines to $317,708.
In the most recent update, both Morgan McComb and her attorney Paul Davis are now accusing The Texas Nationalist Movement of fraud after TNM has seemingly backed out of covering the total of all penalties and fees for their failed lawsuit.
Additionally, the lawsuit states that McComb is broke and can’t afford to pay any significant portion of the fees or sanctions.
Davis does seem to provide receipts showing that TNM indicated they were initially on board with paying fees with text messages from president of TNM, Daniel Miller.
You can read the new suit against TNM here:
Despite being responsible for so much in fees, McComb has an additional defamation lawsuit pending ALSO filed by Paul Davis against another politically involved activist.
What an absolute joke.
Not sure how McComb is going to pay those fines, but a fire sale of goods on Facebook Marketplace is a start.
Editors note: McComb once claimed we were liars and were getting sued. She was wrong on both points obviously. A real charm to the grassroots here.
