Monitoring the Situation (11/3/25)
Uvalde drama, Chip Roy on deportations, and a congressional candidate is kicked out of an SMU game.
Here are several stories that we’re monitoring, or have monitored, just for you.
Uvalde Police Hire Lawyer to Hide Details of Staffer Death
As we continue to monitor the situation surrounding the death of the staffer for congressman Tony Gonzales, a new update comes from MaryAnn Martinez of The Daily Mail.
Martinez’s post includes a letter from the City of Uvalde lawyer written to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. In the letter, the City of Uvalde asks Paxton for a ruling that will allow them to withhold details of the incident citing privacy and potentially “embarrassing and intimate” facts surrounding the staffer’s death.
They also state there is no public interest in this case.
Why is the city working so hard to hide the details surrounding this incident? Let us know in the comments.
Congressman Chip Roy Responds to Concerns About Amnesty for Illegals
A new situation has emerged in the Texas AG race, as Congressman Chip Roy has become the subject of increased monitoring at our news desk following a Saturday article that quotes Roy using what appear to be dogwhistle terms for amnesty.
While Roy strongly supports deportations of illegal immigrants, he said his congressional office is working on immigration cases involving people who’ve lived in the country for years and have been functioning members of society.
“I’m dealing with those cases and trying to manage that because all of us here want a secure border, and we want people who are rule violators to go home,” Roy said. “But everybody here is a Christian who wants to make sure that the baby at the door step or the person that’s been here working and has never violated our laws [and] is a good human being, that we treat them as a Christian should.”
The “But” here sounds like a carve out, exception, or amnesty, for specific illegals to Current Revolt, which we ended up posting on X.
Congressman Roy responded saying it was fake news and he was referring to “prioritization.”
